4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to correctly set up your KVM switch:

  1. Power Connection: Connect the DC12V power adapter to the KVM switch and plug it into a power outlet. Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
  2. PC Connections:
    • For PC1: Connect one HDMI cable from PC1's HDMI output to the KVM's 'PC1 IN HDMI B' port. Connect one DisplayPort cable from PC1's DisplayPort output to the KVM's 'PC1 IN DP A' port. Connect one USB 3.0 A-A cable from PC1's USB 3.0 port to the KVM's 'PC1 IN USB 3.0' port.
    • For PC2: Repeat the above steps for PC2, connecting its HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB 3.0 outputs to the corresponding 'PC2 IN' ports on the KVM switch.
  3. Monitor Connections: Connect your primary monitor to the KVM's 'OUT A' (DisplayPort) and 'OUT B' (HDMI) ports. Ensure your monitors support the desired resolutions and refresh rates.
  4. Peripheral Connections: Connect your USB keyboard, mouse, and other USB 3.0 peripherals (e.g., printer, USB drive) to the four USB 3.0 ports on the front panel of the KVM switch.
  5. Wired Remote Control (Optional): Plug the wired desktop control button into the 'Control' port on the KVM switch for convenient switching.

Important Notes:

  • Both the computer and monitor must have native HDMI and DisplayPort connections. The use of HDMI to DisplayPort or DisplayPort to HDMI conversion cables is not supported and may cause display issues.
  • Ensure all cables are securely connected. Loose connections can lead to signal loss or instability.
  • Use high-quality video cables (e.g., HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 compatible) to achieve optimal resolutions and refresh rates.

5. Operating Instructions

The KVM switch offers simple operation for seamless switching between connected computers.

5.1 Switching Between Computers

You can switch between PC1 and PC2 using one of the following methods:

  • Front Panel Button: Press the 'Select' button on the front of the KVM switch to toggle between PC1 and PC2. An LED indicator will illuminate to show which PC is currently active.
  • Wired Remote Control: Press the button on the wired desktop control to switch between PC1 and PC2. This allows you to place the KVM switch out of sight for a tidier workspace.

Note: Keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) are not supported by this model.

5.2 Display Modes

The KVM switch supports both extended and copy (duplicate) display modes, provided your computer's graphics card supports these functions.

  • Extended Mode: Each monitor displays a different part of your desktop, expanding your workspace.
  • Copy (Duplicate) Mode: Both monitors display the same content.

6. Features

  • High Resolution Video: Supports video resolutions up to 8K@60Hz and 4K@120Hz, backward compatible with 4K@60Hz, 1080P, and 720P. The KVM switch automatically identifies the resolution when switching signal sources.
  • USB 3.0 Connectivity: Equipped with four USB 3.0 ports, providing data transfer speeds up to 5Gbps, which is 10 times faster than USB 2.0. This allows for quick transfer of files and efficient use of USB peripherals.
  • Broad Compatibility: Compatible with various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux. It supports a wide range of USB devices such as mice, keyboards, printers, and U disks, as well as HDMI and DisplayPort compatible TVs, monitors, and projectors.
  • Stable Power Supply: Includes a 12V power adapter to ensure stable operation for all connected USB devices, especially those requiring more power like hard drives, which may not receive sufficient current from a PC host's USB port alone.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, please refer to the following common solutions:

  • USB Devices Not Working:
    • Confirm that the USB 3.0 cable is properly connected between the computer and the KVM switch.
    • Verify that the computer's USB port is functioning correctly.
    • Ensure the latest USB drivers are installed on your computer.
    • Confirm the 12V power adapter is connected and providing power to the KVM switch, especially for power-hungry USB devices.
  • Display Has No Image:
    • Confirm that the KVM switch's video input ports (PC1 IN, PC2 IN) match the corresponding output displays (OUT A, OUT B). For example, if PC1 is connected to 'PC1 IN DP A' and 'PC1 IN HDMI B', then 'OUT A' and 'OUT B' should display PC1's output when selected.
    • Ensure all video cables (HDMI and DisplayPort) are securely connected between the computers, KVM switch, and monitors.
    • Use high-quality HDMI and DisplayPort cables. Conversion cables (e.g., HDMI to DP or DP to HDMI) are not supported and should not be used.
    • If an adapter is required for your setup, use an active adapter.
    • Verify that your monitors are powered on and set to the correct input source.
  • Desktop Icons Scramble/Delay After Switching: This can occur if the computer interprets the monitor disconnection during switching. Most operating systems will correct this automatically after a moment. Ensure your display drivers are up to date.
