2. Important Safety Instructions

4. Setup

- First Use (Burn-off): Before toasting food for the first time, operate the toaster without bread for a few cycles at the highest browning setting (8). This will burn off any manufacturing residues and eliminate initial odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
5. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for general toasting and specific functions:
- Insert Bread: Place slices of bread into the toasting slots. The wide slots accommodate various bread types and thicknesses.
- Select Browning Level: Turn the browning control dial to your desired setting, from 1 (lightest) to 8 (darkest).
- Start Toasting: Press the high-lift lever down until it locks into place. The toaster will begin toasting.
- Cancel Toasting: To stop toasting at any time, press the Stop button.
- Retrieve Toast: Once the toasting cycle is complete, the toast will automatically pop up. Use the high-lift lever to raise the toast further for easy and safe retrieval, especially for smaller items.

Special Functions:
- Defrost Function: Insert frozen bread, press the lever down, then press the Defrost button. The indicator light will illuminate. This function automatically adjusts the toasting time for frozen items.
- Reheat Function: Insert already toasted bread, press the lever down, then press the Reheat button. The indicator light will illuminate. This function warms the toast without further browning.
- Bagel Function: Insert a sliced bagel with the cut side facing inwards, press the lever down, then press the Bagel button. The indicator light will illuminate. This function toasts the cut side and warms the outer side.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
