4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The KMF-01 units require 9V batteries for operation. Locate the battery compartments on the back of both the Transmitter and Receiver units. Open the covers, insert the 9V batteries observing the correct polarity, and then securely close the covers.
4.2 Connecting Test Leads
For multimeter functions, insert the red test lead into the 'INPUT' jack and the black test lead into the 'COM' (common) jack on the Transmitter unit. Ensure connections are firm before taking measurements.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Digital Multimeter (Transmitter Unit)
The Transmitter unit functions as a standalone smart multimeter with a 4000-count LCD display, data hold, backlight, and auto-power off after 15 minutes of inactivity.
5.1.1 Automatic Ranging Mode
In automatic mode, the multimeter automatically measures AC/DC voltage, resistance, and continuity. Simply select the 'AUTO' function on the rotary dial, and the device will detect the measurement type.

5.1.2 Manual Ranging Mode
For specific measurements, switch to manual mode to access functions including voltage (AC/DC), resistance, continuity, current, diode, capacitance, frequency, and temperature. Use the 'SEL' button to cycle through functions within a single rotary dial position if multiple functions share a setting.

5.2 NCV Detector (Receiver Unit)
The Receiver unit operates as a standalone non-contact voltage tester. It identifies live wires, hidden wall cables, and outlets without direct contact. Audible signals and LED warnings indicate the presence of voltage, helping to prevent electric shocks. An integrated illuminator assists in low-light conditions.
To use, turn on the Receiver unit and bring its tip close to the suspected live area. The device will emit beeps and flash LEDs if voltage is detected.

5.3 Cable Tracer (Transmitter + Receiver Units)
Combine the Transmitter and Receiver units to quickly locate RJ45/RJ11 cables. The anti-interference design ensures a stable signal for accurate tracing.
5.3.1 Cable Tracing
Connect the RJ45 or RJ11 cable to the appropriate port on the Transmitter. Activate the tracing function. Use the Receiver unit to follow the cable path. The Receiver will emit an audible tone and display signal strength indicators as it gets closer to the cable.

5.3.2 Cable Sequence and Crimping Quality Check
The KMF-01 supports cable sequence checking (open circuits, short circuits, crossed wires) and crimping quality checks for crystal heads. This is ideal for diagnosing and maintaining wiring faults.
- Cable Mapping: Connect both ends of the RJ45/RJ11 cable to the Transmitter and Receiver. The display will show the wiring sequence and identify any faults.
- Crimping Quality: The device can detect issues like open connectors, short circuits, incorrect wiring, and faulty crimps.
- Line Continuity Test: Use the test leads with the Transmitter and Receiver to check for continuity in various lines.

5.3.3 Adjustable Sensitivity and Flashlight
The Receiver unit features adjustable sensitivity to help locate cables more easily and precisely. It also includes a built-in flashlight for working in dark environments.

6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your KAIWEETS KMF-01.
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
- Test Lead Inspection: Regularly check test leads for cuts, cracks, or damaged insulation. Replace damaged leads immediately.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KAIWEETS KMF-01, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Device Not Powering On:
- Check if batteries are installed correctly.
- Replace with fresh 9V batteries.
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure test leads are properly connected.
- Verify the correct function and range are selected (if not in auto mode).
- Check battery level; low batteries can affect accuracy.
- Cable Tracer Not Detecting:
- Ensure both Transmitter and Receiver units are powered on.
- Check cable connections to the Transmitter.
- Adjust the sensitivity of the Receiver unit.
- NCV Detector Not Responding:
- Ensure the Receiver unit is powered on.
- Confirm the presence of AC voltage in the area being tested with a known live source.
