4.4 Electrical Connections

Follow the detailed wiring diagrams provided in the separate installation guide for connecting solar panels (PV), battery, grid, and load. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes.

  • Connect the PV input from your solar panels to the inverter.
  • Connect the battery to the inverter's battery terminals.
  • Connect the grid input and load output to the inverter.
  • For parallel operation, connect up to three inverters as per the parallel connection guide.

5. Operating Instructions

The Dawnice Solar Power System operates intelligently to manage energy flow between solar panels, battery, grid, and your home's load.

5.1 System Operation Overview

Video 5.1: An overview of the Dawnice Residential Energy Storage System, illustrating its operational modes throughout the day and night.

System operation diagram showing energy flow

Figure 5.1: Diagram illustrating the energy flow during different scenarios: day with solar energy, evening, day without grid, and power failure.

  • During the Day (with Solar Energy): Solar panels convert sunlight into DC power, which the inverter converts to AC for your home's load. Excess solar power charges the battery. Once the battery is full, any remaining excess power can be fed back into the grid.
  • In the Evening/Night: When solar production is low or absent, the battery discharges to power your home's load. If the battery power drops below a set protection level, the grid automatically supplies power to the load.
  • Power Failure: The system automatically switches to battery backup mode, providing uninterrupted power to critical loads.

5.2 Monitoring and Control

The system features an intelligent display on the inverter for real-time monitoring. Additionally, it supports remote monitoring via WiFi/GPRS and a mobile application.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your solar power system.

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the inverter and battery unit clean and free from dust and debris. Ensure ventilation openings are not obstructed.
  • Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of corrosion.
  • Battery Health: Monitor battery parameters via the intelligent display or mobile app. The BMS will protect the battery from abnormal conditions.
  • Software Updates: Ensure the inverter firmware is up-to-date for optimal performance and security.
  • Professional Inspection: It is recommended to have the system inspected by a qualified professional annually.
