5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Initial Access and Configuration
The switch can be managed via a Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) or Command Line Interface (CLI).
- Default IP Address: 192.168.10.12
- Default Username: admin
- Default Password: admin
5.1.1 Web Management (GUI)
- Ensure your computer's IP address is in the same subnet as the switch (e.g., 192.168.10.x, with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0).
- Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (
http://192.168.10.12) in the address bar. - Enter the default username (
admin) and password (admin) when prompted. - Upon successful login, you will access the Web GUI for basic configurations. Remember to click 'Apply' after making changes to save them permanently.
5.1.2 Command Line Interface (CLI)
For advanced configurations, the CLI can be accessed via Telnet or SSH. Refer to the detailed CLI manual for specific commands.

Figure 5.1: Screenshot illustrating the Web and CLI management interfaces. Shows basic configuration options via web and advanced settings via command line. Supported features include DHCP/DHCPv6, VLAN, LACP, STP, QoS, Static Route (IPv4/IPv6), RIP/OSPF/BGP. Note: Once configuration is complete, click 'Apply' to prevent reverting to factory settings after a power failure or firmware update.
5.2 Network Configuration Examples
The XikeStor L3 Managed Switch supports a wide range of network configurations. Below is a typical network construction case for small and medium businesses.

Figure 5.2: A network diagram illustrating a typical network setup for small and medium-sized businesses using the XikeStor switch, showing connections to the internet, routers, other switches, PCs, and NAS devices, with VLAN and LACP configurations.
Important Tips for Network Configuration:
- The networking method shown in the diagram is for reference only; please adapt it according to your specific implementation needs.
- Optical ports require optical modules for input and output, which are not shown in the diagram.
- Communication between VLANs requires the routing function provided by the higher-layer device of the switch.
6. Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: Regularly check the XikeStor website for the latest firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security. Follow the provided instructions for firmware upgrade procedures.
- Cleaning: Keep the switch clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Ensure ventilation openings are clear.
- Environmental Considerations: Operate the switch within the recommended temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposing the device to direct sunlight, excessive heat, or moisture.
