Operating Instructions
1. Opening the Safe
There are two primary methods to open your Locksworth safe:
- Using a Passcode: Enter your personal code on the digital keypad, then turn the knob clockwise to open the door.
- Using the Emergency Override Key: Insert the key into the keyhole, turn it clockwise, and simultaneously turn the knob clockwise to open the door. This method is used for initial setup, dead batteries, or forgotten passcodes.

2. Setting/Changing Your Passcode
- With the safe door open, locate the red reset button on the inside of the door (usually near the hinge or battery compartment).
- Press the reset button. The keypad will beep, and an indicator light will illuminate.
- Enter your desired 3-8 digit passcode on the keypad.
- Press the 'A' or '#' button to confirm. The safe will beep again, indicating the new passcode is set.
- Test the new passcode with the door open before closing it.
Maintenance
1. Battery Replacement
When the 'LO-BAT' indicator light illuminates, it's time to replace the batteries. Open the safe using your passcode or emergency key, replace the 4 AA batteries in the compartment, ensuring correct polarity. Your passcode will typically be retained during battery replacement, but it is good practice to re-test it.
2. Cleaning
Wipe the safe's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
Troubleshooting
- Safe will not open with passcode:
- Ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
- Verify the correct passcode is being entered.
- If multiple incorrect attempts have been made, the safe may be temporarily locked (see 'Password Error' below).
- Use the emergency override key to open the safe.
- Password Error / Alarm:
- If 3 invalid codes are entered consecutively, the keypad will be inaccessible for 20 seconds, and an alert will sound.
- If 6 invalid codes are entered consecutively, the keypad will be inaccessible for 5 minutes, and an alert will sound.
- Wait for the lockout period to expire before attempting to enter the passcode again.
- Keys are inside the safe: If the emergency keys are accidentally locked inside, contact customer support for assistance.
