Setup Instructions

  1. Unfold the Trainer Stand: Place the main frame on a flat, stable surface. Unfold the legs to form a stable base. Ensure the rubber feet are in contact with the floor to prevent scratching and provide stability.
  2. Install the Resistance Unit: The resistance unit is typically pre-attached. If not, secure it to the main frame using the provided bolts and nuts. Ensure it is firmly in place.
  3. Prepare Your Bicycle:
    • Replace your bicycle's rear wheel skewer with the provided quick-release skewer. This ensures a secure fit within the trainer's clamps.
    • Ensure your bicycle's tires are properly inflated. For optimal performance and reduced noise, consider using a slick tire if you typically use knobby mountain bike tires.
  4. Mount the Bicycle:
    • Open the quick-release clamps on both sides of the trainer stand.
    • Carefully lift your bicycle and align the quick-release skewer of the rear wheel with the trainer's clamps.
    • Close and tighten the quick-release clamps firmly on both sides to secure the rear wheel. Ensure the bike is centered and stable.
  5. Adjust Resistance Roller: Turn the adjustment knob on the resistance unit until the roller makes firm contact with the rear tire. The tire should be slightly compressed against the roller to prevent slippage during use.
  6. Position Front Wheel Riser Block: Place the front wheel riser block directly under your bicycle's front wheel. This elevates the front wheel to match the height of the rear wheel, ensuring a level and natural riding position.
  7. Attach Resistance Controller: Mount the resistance adjustment cable's controller to your bicycle's handlebars using the provided clamp. This allows for easy adjustment of resistance during your workout.

Operating Instructions

  1. Start Cycling: Begin pedaling your bicycle as you would outdoors. The rear wheel will turn the resistance roller.
  2. Adjust Resistance: Use the handlebar-mounted controller to adjust the resistance level. The Fitvids trainer offers multiple levels of fluid resistance, allowing you to simulate various terrains and workout intensities.
    • Turn the dial clockwise to increase resistance.
    • Turn the dial counter-clockwise to decrease resistance.
  3. Utilize Bike Gears: In addition to the trainer's resistance settings, you can use your bicycle's gears to further fine-tune your workout intensity, just like riding outdoors.
  4. Monitor Stability: Ensure the trainer remains stable throughout your workout. If any wobbling occurs, re-check the quick-release clamps and the trainer's leg stability.

Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Wipe down the trainer stand and resistance unit with a damp cloth after each use to remove sweat and dust. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all bolts, nuts, and quick-release clamps to ensure they are tight and secure. Tighten if necessary.
  • Tire Condition: Regularly check your bicycle tire for wear and tear, especially the area in contact with the resistance roller. Replace worn tires to maintain optimal performance and reduce noise.
  • Storage: When not in use, the trainer stand can be folded for compact storage. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
