Setup

1. Battery Installation

The ER310PRO includes a pre-installed rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery. Before first use, ensure the battery is properly seated and the protective tab (if present) is removed from the battery compartment. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the unit.

2. Initial Charging

For optimal performance, fully charge the internal Lithium Polymer battery before first use. You have several charging options:

  • USB-C Charging: Connect the included USB-C cable to the radio's USB-C input port (located under the rubber flap on the side) and to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or computer.
  • Solar Panel: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. The solar panel charges the internal battery.
  • Hand Crank: Extend the hand crank handle and rotate it clockwise or counter-clockwise for manual power generation.

3. Power On/Off

To turn on the radio, press and hold the POWER button for 2 seconds. To turn off the radio, press and hold the POWER button for 2 seconds.

4. Antenna Extension

For best reception, fully extend the telescopic antenna when using AM/FM or Weather bands.

Operating Instructions

1. Radio Functions (AM/FM/Weather)

  • Band Selection: Press the BAND button to cycle through AM, FM, and Weather (WX) bands.
  • Tuning: Use the TUNE UP and TUNE DOWN buttons to adjust the frequency.
  • Volume Control: Use the VOL + and VOL - buttons to adjust the audio volume.

2. NOAA Weather Scan and Alert

The ER310PRO features NOAA Weather Scan and Alert capabilities to provide timely weather information.

  • Weather Scan: The radio automatically scans through 7 available weather (WX) band channels and locks onto the strongest signal.
  • Weather Alert: When a severe weather alert is issued, the radio will sound an alarm, flash the flashlight, and display the alert message.
  • Programming Alerts: Press and hold the WX ALERT button to enter the programming menu. Use the tuning buttons to navigate and select options such as time, backlight settings, and specific alert types.

3. Flashlight and SOS Beacon

The powerful CREE LED flashlight (130 Lumens) has multiple modes:

  • Low Beam: Press the flashlight button once.
  • High Beam: Press the flashlight button a second time.
  • SOS Beacon: Press the flashlight button a third time to activate the SOS Morse code flashing signal.

4. Ultrasonic Dog Siren

To activate the ultrasonic dog siren, press and hold the flashlight button for 2 seconds. This feature is designed to assist search and rescue teams in locating individuals with dogs.

5. Bluetooth Streaming

Connect your smartphone or other Bluetooth-enabled device to the ER310PRO to stream audio.

  • Pairing: Ensure the radio is in Bluetooth mode (indicated on the display). On your device, search for and select "Midland ER310PRO" to pair.

6. Power Bank Function

The integrated 10,000 mAh power bank allows you to charge external devices.

  • Charging Devices: Connect your device's USB charging cable to the USB-A output port (located under the rubber flap on the side).

Maintenance

1. Battery Care

  • Regularly charge the internal Lithium Polymer battery using any of the available methods.
  • If using optional AA batteries as backup, ensure they are fresh and replace them periodically.

2. Cleaning

Wipe the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
