5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Remote Not Operating Device

  • Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are fresh and inserted with correct polarity.
  • Line of Sight: Make sure there is a clear line of sight between the remote and the device. Obstructions can block the infrared signal.
  • Re-program: If the remote stops working or was recently moved to a new device, try re-programming it using the OneTouch setup steps (Section 2.2) or AUX setup (Section 2.3).
  • Device Compatibility: Verify that your device is compatible with a universal remote. While the BigEZ remote works with most major brands, some older or very specific models may not be fully supported.

5.2 Buttons Not Responding Correctly

  • Sticky Buttons: If buttons feel sticky or unresponsive, clean the remote as described in Section 4.
  • Re-program: Sometimes a button mapping can become corrupted. Re-programming the remote for your device may resolve this.

5.3 Remote Not Controlling Roku Streaming Stick

The GE BigEZ OneTouch Universal Remote is designed to control Roku boxes and Roku TVs, but it is not compatible with Roku streaming sticks. Please ensure you are attempting to control a compatible Roku device.
