3. Setup
- Unpack and Clean: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Wash the water tank, portafilters, and drip tray with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry.
- Position the Machine: Place the espresso machine on a stable, flat, and dry surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for ventilation and operation.
- Fill the Water Tank: Remove the 1-liter water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the 'MAX' line. Reinsert the water tank securely into its position.
- Initial Rinse Cycle: Before first use, perform a rinse cycle. Fill the water tank, place a cup under the portafilter, and run a single shot without coffee. This primes the system and cleans internal components.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Brewing Espresso with Coffee Powder
- Prepare Portafilter: Insert the 51mm single or double cup filter into the powder portafilter.
- Add Coffee Grounds: Use the included spoon to add desired amount of ground coffee into the filter. Level and tamp the grounds firmly using the tamper end of the spoon.
- Attach Portafilter: Align the portafilter with the group head on the machine and twist it firmly to the 'LOCK' position.
- Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
- Brew: Press the single shot or double shot button on the control panel. The machine will automatically brew the espresso.

4.2 Brewing Espresso with Nespresso Original Capsules
- Prepare Capsule Portafilter: Open the capsules portafilter.
- Insert Capsule: Correctly place a Nespresso Original capsule into the capsule portafilter and close it.
- Attach Portafilter: Align the capsule portafilter with the group head and twist it firmly to the 'LOCK' position.
- Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray directly under the portafilter spouts.
- Brew: Press the single shot or double shot button on the control panel. The machine will automatically brew the espresso.

4.3 Milk Frothing
- Prepare Milk: Fill a milk pitcher with cold milk.
- Activate Steam: Press the steam button on the control panel. Wait until the heating for steam is finished (indicator light will change).
- Position Steam Wand: Submerge the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk.
- Froth Milk: Turn the steam knob to release steady steam. Move the pitcher up and down to create desired microfoam.
- Clean Wand: After frothing, turn off the steam, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth, and purge a small amount of steam to clear any milk residue.

5. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Gevi Espresso Machine.
- Drip Tray: The removable drip tray should be emptied and cleaned regularly. A red float indicator will rise when the tray is full.
- Steam Wand: Always wipe the steam wand immediately after use with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue buildup. Purge steam briefly to clear the internal passage.
- Portafilters & Filters: Clean portafilters and filters after each use.
- Descaling: Descale the machine periodically according to the instructions in the full user manual to prevent mineral buildup.
