[Warning] Pressure: To avoid burns or damage to the coffee machine, do not remove the water tank or portafilter during extraction or under pressure. Ensure the machine is turned off and all button lights are extinguished before adding water. When extracting coffee, properly secure the portafilter to prevent loosening and potential injury.
[Warning] High temperature: During operation, keep hands and body away from the portafilter and swivel steam/hot water wand to avoid burns. Only adjust the swivel steam/hot water wand by its heat-resistant handle.
North American models with polarized plug: This machine has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature or modify the plug in any way. If the plug fits loosely into the AC outlet or if the AC outlet feels warm, do not use that outlet.

- Add water into the water tank. Do not exceed the 'Max' line.
- Slide the water tank back into position at the back of the machine, ensuring it is pushed down completely to lock into place.
Choosing Filter Basket
- Insert the appropriate filter basket into the portafilter.
- 1 Cup filter basket: For one cup of coffee (approx. 1-1.7 oz / 30-50mL). Use with 12-14g of ground coffee.
- 2 Cup filter basket: For two cups or a stronger cup (approx. 1.7-2.4 oz / 50-70mL). Use with 17-19g of ground coffee.
- Tips: Pre-heating cup & portafilter: A warmed cup maintains coffee temperature. Pre-heat cups by filling with hot water and placing on the Cup Warming Tray. A warmed portafilter and filter basket help reach extraction temperature quickly. Rinse portafilter and filter basket with hot water before use, then wipe dry.
Tamping the Ground Coffee
- Tap the portafilter lightly to distribute the coffee evenly in the basket.
- Tamp down the ground coffee firmly with 30-40 lbs of pressure.
- The top edge of the tamper should be level with the top edge of the filter basket after tamping. [Figure 5]
- Use your finger or a small brush to remove excess ground coffee from the edge of the filter basket to ensure a full seal for extraction.
Extracting Espresso
- Place the portafilter under the Group Head with the handle aligned with the [insert-sign]. Raise the portafilter straight to fit into the group head and rotate the handle to the right until resistance is felt. The handle should be perpendicular to the control panel when in position. Extra force may be needed for the first few uses. [Figure 6]
- When the machine is in Standby State, press the Single Cup button or Double Cup button to start extracting. Extraction will stop automatically after the preset volume (approx. 1-1.7 oz / 30-50mL for 1 Cup, 1.7-2.4 oz / 50-70mL for 2 Cup).
Texturing Milk
- Fill the milk pitcher with 120-180ml fresh cold milk.
- When the machine is in Standby State, press the Steam button; it will flash slowly.
- The Steam button stops flashing and remains illuminated when heating is complete.
- Position the steam wand tip over the drip tray and turn the control dial to the [steam-position] position, purging any condensed water.
- Insert the steam wand tip 1-2cm below the surface, close to the right-hand side of the milk pitcher (at the 3 o'clock position).
- Turn the control dial to the [off-position] to pause the steam, insert the steam wand tip into milk, and turn the dial to the [steam-position] position.
- Keep the tip just under the surface until the milk is spinning clockwise, producing a vortex (whirlpool effect). [Figure 7]
- With the milk spinning, slowly lower the milk pitcher. This brings the steam wand tip to the surface of the milk and starts introducing air. Move the steam wand tip gently to break the surface of the milk to maintain vortex speed.
- Continue to keep the tip at or slightly below the surface, maintaining the vortex, until sufficient volume is obtained.
- Lower the frothing nozzle beneath the surface, but keep the vortex of milk spinning. The milk pitcher will be hot to touch when the milk reaches the correct temperature of 140-149°F (60-65°C).
- Turn the control dial to the [off-position] and then take the wand out of the milk.
- Set the milk pitcher aside, position the steam wand over the drip tray, turn the dial to the [steam-position] position to purge out any residual milk, and wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth.
- Tap the milk pitcher on the bench to collapse any bubbles.
- Swirl the milk pitcher to polish and integrate the texture.
- Pour milk directly into the espresso quickly, before the milk begins to separate.
Hot water may drip from the steam wand. Always direct the spout outlet towards the drip tray when not frothing.
Note: A pumping sound can be heard when the espresso machine creates steam; this is normal operation.
Hot Water
- When the machine is in Standby State, place a cup on the countertop and position the steam wand. Turn the dial to the [hot-water-position] position to start releasing hot water.
- To stop the hot water, return the dial to the [off-position] position.
Note: The maximum working time for hot water is 60 seconds.
Reprogramming
Adjusting the Extraction Time
- The adjustable time range is 10-25 seconds for single-cup and 20-50 seconds for double-cup.
- When the machine is in Standby State, press and hold the Single Cup button (for single-cup) or the Double Cup button (for double-cup). The respective button will flash, indicating reprogramming mode.
- Press the Single Cup/Double Cup button again to begin dispensing coffee. The button will flash simultaneously.
- Press the Single Cup/Double Cup button again to stop dispensing. The dispensing volume for that cup size is now set and saved.
