Permanent Outdoor Lighting System

1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the APPECK 16.4ft Extension Lights. This product is designed to provide permanent, high-quality outdoor lighting with 12 LEDs per section, offering an upgrade to 80lm per light and tunable color temperature from 2700K to 6500K. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your lighting system.

The string lights are IP67 waterproof and designed for outdoor use. They are also cuttable and extendable, allowing for customized installations. Ensure all waterproof caps at the light string connectors are securely tightened during installation to maintain water resistance.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 General Guidelines

  • Ensure the main control unit (C5106) is powered off before connecting extension lights.
  • Plan your desired lighting layout before installation.
  • These lights are designed for permanent outdoor installation on eaves or similar structures.

4.2 Connecting Extension Lights

Connect the extension light string to the main control unit (C5106) or to another extension string. Ensure the connectors are aligned correctly and twist to secure. Crucially, tighten the waterproof caps at all light string connectors to prevent water ingress.

4.3 Cuttable and Extendable Usage

The APPECK extension lights are designed to be cut and extended to fit your specific installation needs. Follow these guidelines:

  • Cutting: Identify the designated cutting points on the light string. Use appropriate tools for a clean cut.
  • Splicing: If splicing wires, ensure correct polarity. Typically, the lettered line connects to red, the blank line to yellow, and the dotted line to blue. Use the provided wire connectors for a secure and waterproof connection.
  • Extending: To extend the length, connect additional extension cords. A signal amplifier may be required for longer runs to maintain signal integrity.
  • Important: Do not add more than 3 extension cords to the same place, and no more than 5 extension cords for a complete set of lights to ensure optimal performance and safety.

4.4 Version Compatibility

This product is an upgraded version designed to support track installation for a cleaner and more secure setup. Ensure compatibility with your existing system if integrating with older components.

5. Operating Instructions

Once properly installed and connected to the main control unit (C5106), the APPECK extension lights can be operated via the control unit. Refer to the C5106 main unit's instruction manual for detailed operating procedures, including power on/off, color changing, and brightness adjustments.

  • Brightness: Each LED light provides up to 80 lumens.
  • Color Temperature: Tunable color temperature ranges from 2700K (warm white) to 6500K (cool white).
  • Color Changing: The lights support color changing features, allowing for various lighting effects.

6. Maintenance

The APPECK extension lights are designed for durability and minimal maintenance. Follow these recommendations:

  • Water Resistance: The lights, control box, and adapter are IP67 waterproof. Periodically inspect all connections and waterproof caps to ensure they remain tightly sealed.
  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the lights with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt or debris. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Longevity: The LEDs have an estimated lifespan of 50,000+ hours. No user-replaceable bulbs are available.
  • Temperature Range: The lights are designed to operate in temperatures from -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F).
  • UV Resistance: Made with UV-resistant materials for year-round outdoor use.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Lights Not Turning On:
    • Ensure the main control unit (C5106) is powered on and functioning correctly.
    • Check all connections between the extension lights and the control unit for secure fit.
    • Verify that the power source is active.
  • Inconsistent Lighting/Flickering:
    • Inspect all connections for looseness or corrosion.
    • If using multiple extension cords, ensure you have not exceeded the recommended limit of 5 total extension cords for the complete set of lights.
    • Consider using a signal amplifier if experiencing issues over long runs.
  • Water Ingress:
    • Immediately disconnect power.
    • Inspect all waterproof caps and connectors. Tighten any loose caps.
    • If damage is visible, discontinue use and contact customer support.
