1. Introduction and Overview

The Blackview ROCK 3 is a rugged smartphone designed for demanding environments and users who require exceptional durability and advanced features. It combines military-grade protection with high-performance specifications, including a powerful camera system, long-lasting battery, and intelligent AI capabilities.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Before starting, ensure all items are present in the package:

• Blackview ROCK 3 Smartphone
• USB-C Cable
• Power Adapter
• SIM Ejector Tool
• User Manual (this document)

2.2 Inserting SIM Cards and MicroSD Card

1. Locate the SIM card tray on the side of the device.
2. Insert the SIM ejector tool into the small hole next to the tray and push gently until the tray pops out.
3. Place your Nano-SIM cards (up to two) and/or a MicroSD card (up to 2TB) into the designated slots on the tray. Ensure the gold contacts face downwards.
4. Carefully reinsert the tray into the phone until it clicks into place.

2.3 Initial Power On and Configuration

1. Press and hold the Power button (usually on the right side) until the Blackview logo appears.
2. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, connect to a Wi-Fi network, and set up your Google account.
3. Configure security settings such as fingerprint unlock or a PIN/pattern.

3.1 Display and Interaction

The Blackview ROCK 3 features a 6.78-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smooth visuals. It offers a resolution of 1080*2460 pixels and 750 nits brightness for clear visibility even in direct sunlight. The 120Hz touch sampling rate ensures responsive interaction.

3.2 Performance and Storage

Powered by an Octa-core MediaTek G100 processor and running Android 16 with DokeOS 5.0, the ROCK 3 delivers efficient multitasking and a user-friendly interface. It comes with 32GB of RAM (8GB physical + 24GB expandable virtual RAM) and 256GB of internal storage, expandable up to 2TB via a TF card.

3.3 Camera System

The ROCK 3 features a versatile camera setup:

• Rear Camera: 108MP main sensor with AI enhancements, capable of capturing detailed images.
• Front Camera: 50MP selfie camera for high-resolution self-portraits.
• Thermal Camera: Integrated thermal imaging for precise temperature measurement and visualization, useful for professional and outdoor applications.

Supported modes include HDR, Night Mode, Portrait, and Panorama. Video recording is available in 2K Pro resolution.

3.4 Battery and Charging

Equipped with a 10000mAh battery, the ROCK 3 provides extended usage times. It supports 27W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and 10W reverse charging, allowing you to power other devices.

The Blackview ROCK 3 is built to withstand harsh conditions, certified with MIL-STD-810H military standard for robustness and IP68/IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance.

• MIL-STD-810H: Tested against drops, shocks, vibrations, high/low temperatures, humidity, and altitude.
• IP68 & IP69K: Provides protection against immersion in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes and resistance to high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.
• Drop Resistance: Designed to withstand drops from up to 1.5 meters.
• Gorilla Glass: The display is protected by Gorilla Glass for enhanced scratch and shatter resistance.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Blackview ROCK 3, follow these maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. For ports, use a soft brush to remove dust.
• Water Exposure: While waterproof, ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposing the phone to water. After water exposure, dry the device thoroughly before charging or opening any ports.
• Temperature: Avoid prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures (hot or cold) outside the recommended operating range to prevent battery degradation and component damage.
• Software Updates: Regularly update the device software to benefit from performance improvements, security patches, and new features.
• Storage Management: Periodically clear unnecessary files and apps to maintain optimal performance.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Blackview ROCK 3, try the following steps:

• Device Not Responding: Press and hold the Power button for about 10-15 seconds to force a restart.
• Battery Draining Quickly: Check for background apps consuming power, reduce screen brightness, or enable power-saving mode. Ensure no faulty apps are installed.
• Network Issues: Toggle Airplane Mode on and off. Check SIM card insertion. If issues persist, contact your network provider.
