This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, programming, and troubleshooting of your LAWOHO Universal Garage Door Opener Remote Control. Please read these instructions carefully before use to ensure proper functionality and safety.

2. Compatibility

The LAWOHO Universal Garage Door Opener Remote Control is compatible with LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman garage door openers manufactured from 1993 to the present. Compatibility is determined by the color of the 'Learn Button' on your garage door opener motor unit. This remote supports Purple, Orange, Red, Yellow, and Green learn buttons.

4. Setup & Programming

Follow these steps to program your LAWOHO Universal Garage Door Opener Remote Control:

Step 1: Identify Your Garage Door Opener's Learn Button Color

You will need a stepladder to access your garage door opener motor unit. Locate the 'Learn Button' on the motor unit. Note its color (Purple, Yellow, Red, Orange, or Green).

Step 2: Change Remote Control's LED Mode (if necessary)

The remote control has two LED working modes: Green and Red. The Green LED mode is for Purple, Red, or Orange learn buttons. The Red LED mode is for Yellow or Green learn buttons.

  • If the current remote LED working mode matches your opener's learn button color, proceed to Step 3.
  • If not, you will need to change the remote's LED working mode:
    1. Press and hold both buttons on the remote simultaneously until the LED flashes.
    2. Then, press the button you wish to change. The LED light will switch between Green and Red.

Step 3: Syncing with Your Garage Door Opener

  • Press and release the 'Learn Button' on your garage door opener motor unit. The learn indicator light will glow steadily for 30 seconds.
  • Within 30 seconds, press and hold the desired button on your remote control until the opener's indicator light flashes or you hear two clicks (if a light bulb is not installed).
  • Release the remote control button. Your remote is now programmed.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your remote control, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Remote control cannot sync with the door opener motor:
    • Ensure your door opener model or brand is listed in the compatible list (refer to Section 2).
    • Double-check if the working mode on the remote matches your opener's learn button color. If the learn button color is incorrect, try changing the remote's mode (refer to Step 2 of Setup & Programming).
    • Sometimes, the garage door must be closed before programming can be completed successfully.
  • How to change the remote's LED light:
    • Press both buttons on the remote at the same time until the LED flashes.
    • Then, press the specific button you want to change to cycle its LED color (Green or Red).
  • How to replace the battery:
    • Use a small flat-head screwdriver to carefully open the black case of the remote.
    • Replace the CR2032 3V cell button battery.
