4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Pre-Installation Check

Before starting the installation, ensure your vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected to prevent electrical damage.

4.2 Removing the Original Radio

Carefully remove the existing car radio from your Honda Civic. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions on dash panel removal. Ensure the original radio's connectors are compatible with the new unit's wiring harness.

4.3 Wiring Connections

Connect the provided cables to the corresponding ports on the car stereo unit and your vehicle's wiring harness. Ensure all connections are secure.

  • Power Cable: Connect to the vehicle's power supply.
  • RCA Cable: For audio/video output and input.
  • USB Cables (6-Pin, 4-Pin, Original): For external USB devices and data transfer.
  • Camera Input: For connecting the AHD Rear Camera.
  • Radio Antenna: Connect your vehicle's radio antenna.
  • GPS Antenna: Position the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.

4.4 AHD Backup Camera Installation

Connect the AHD backup camera to the dedicated camera input on the stereo. The camera typically requires a power connection (positive and negative) and a video signal cable. The stereo will automatically display the camera feed when the vehicle is shifted into reverse gear.

4.5 Steering Wheel Control (SWC) Connection

If your vehicle has original steering wheel buttons, connect the SWC wires from the car stereo to your vehicle's SWC interface. This allows you to control basic functions of the stereo (e.g., volume, track skip) directly from your steering wheel. Configuration may be required in the stereo's settings menu.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Basic Interface

Press the power button to turn the unit on or off. The 9-inch touchscreen provides access to all functions and applications. Navigate by tapping, swiping, and pinching gestures.

5.2 Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto

The unit supports wireless CarPlay and Android Auto for seamless smartphone integration. Connect your iPhone or Android device via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Once connected, you can access supported phone apps (messages, music, maps) directly on the stereo display and use voice commands (Siri or Google Assistant).

  • For Android phones: Download the Android Auto app on your phone first.

5.3 GPS Navigation and WiFi/Hotspot

The stereo comes with pre-installed Google Maps. Connect to Wi-Fi (via a mobile hotspot or external Wi-Fi source) to view real-time traffic conditions and access online maps. You can also download map data for offline navigation. The Wi-Fi connection also enables access to the Google Play Store for downloading additional apps like Spotify or YouTube.

5.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

5.5 FM/RDS Radio and Audio Settings

Enjoy high-quality FM/RDS radio with automatic channel search. You can preset up to 18 favorite stations within the frequency range of 87.5-108 FM. The unit features DSP tuning technology and customizable 32-band or 10-band EQ settings to enhance your audio experience.

5.6 Reversing Display

When the vehicle is in reverse gear, the stereo automatically switches to the backup camera display, providing a 170° wide-angle view. The system supports 360° panoramic imaging with dedicated cameras (not included) to eliminate blind spots.

5.7 Split Screen Function

The unit supports split-screen functionality, allowing you to run and view two applications simultaneously on the display, such as navigation and music playback.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Screen

Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the touchscreen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaner. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.

6.2 General Care

Keep the unit free from dust and extreme temperatures. Ensure all cables are securely connected and not pinched. Avoid spilling liquids on the unit.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Power

  • Check all power connections and fuses.
  • Ensure the vehicle's battery is properly connected and charged.

7.2 No Sound

  • Verify speaker connections.
  • Check volume levels and mute settings.
  • Ensure the correct audio source is selected.

7.3 GPS Signal Issues

  • Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear view of the sky.
  • Move the vehicle to an open area away from tall buildings or dense foliage.

7.4 Touchscreen Unresponsive

  • Restart the unit.
  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of debris.

7.5 CarPlay/Android Auto Not Connecting
