Setup

  1. Attach the Neck Strap: Securely attach the provided neck strap to the strap lugs on the binoculars. Ensure both ends are firmly fastened to prevent accidental drops.
  2. Adjust Interpupillary Distance (IPD): Hold the binoculars up to your eyes. Adjust the hinge between the two barrels by moving them closer together or further apart until you see a single, clear circular field of view. This ensures both eyes are aligned with the optical path.
  3. Diopter Adjustment:
    • Close your right eye.
    • Look through the left eyepiece (without the diopter ring) and rotate the central focus wheel until the image is sharp and clear.
    • Close your left eye.
    • Look through the right eyepiece (with the diopter ring) and rotate the diopter ring until the image is sharp and clear. Do not adjust the central focus wheel during this step.
    • Your binoculars are now adjusted for your individual eyesight.

Operating Instructions

  1. Focusing: Once the interpupillary distance and diopter are set, use the central focus wheel to bring distant objects into sharp focus. For new objects at different distances, only the central focus wheel needs to be adjusted.
  2. Viewing: Hold the binoculars steady. For extended viewing, consider resting your elbows on a stable surface or using a tripod adapter (not included) to minimize hand shake, especially with 16x magnification.
  3. Eyecups: If you wear eyeglasses, twist down or fold back the eyecups to achieve a full field of view. If you do not wear eyeglasses, keep the eyecups in the up position.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use the provided lens cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn spots, a small amount of lens cleaning fluid designed for optics can be applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid abrasive materials or excessive rubbing.
  • Cleaning Body: Wipe the body of the binoculars with a soft, clean cloth. For dirt or smudges, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry cloth.
  • Storage: Store your binoculars in a cool, dry place, preferably in their carrying case, when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity. Do not store in direct sunlight.
  • Water Resistance: These binoculars are waterproof. However, prolonged submersion is not recommended. If they get wet, wipe them dry as soon as possible.

Troubleshooting

  • Blurry Image: Ensure the central focus wheel is properly adjusted for your viewing distance. Re-check the diopter setting for your right eye. Verify that the interpupillary distance is correctly set for a single, circular field of view.
  • Double Image: This usually indicates incorrect interpupillary distance. Adjust the hinge until the two images merge into one.
  • Difficulty Focusing: Make sure the lenses are clean and free from smudges or debris. If the diopter adjustment is incorrect, it can affect overall focus. Re-perform the diopter adjustment steps.
  • Limited Field of View: If you wear eyeglasses, ensure the eyecups are twisted down or folded back completely.
