4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and check for any damage. Keep packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the ice maker on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation (at least 6 inches) around the unit. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Filling the Water Tank

  4. Fill the water tank with potable water up to the 'MAX' fill line (approximately 1.8 liters).
  5. Carefully slide the water tank back into place, ensuring it clicks securely.
  6. Replace the ice basket and close the top lid.

5.2 Starting Ice Production

  1. Press the Power Button () on the control panel to turn on the ice maker.
  2. The ice maker will automatically begin the ice-making cycle. The LED display will show the remaining time for the current cycle.
  3. The first batch of ice may take slightly longer and might be smaller due to the initial cooling process. Subsequent batches will be produced more quickly.

5.3 Adjusting Ice Thickness

The ice maker allows you to adjust the thickness of the ice cubes. This feature is typically controlled by pressing and holding a specific button (often the power button or a dedicated 'thickness' button) until the display flashes, then using '+' or '-' buttons to select the desired thickness level (e.g., 1 to 5, where 5 is thicker).

5.4 LED Display Indicators

  • Ice Full Indicator: An icon will illuminate when the ice basket is full, and the ice making process will pause. Remove ice to resume operation.
  • Add Water Indicator: An icon will illuminate when the water level in the tank is low. Add water to the tank to resume ice production.
  • Timer: The display may show a countdown for the current ice-making cycle or a programmed timer.

6. Maintenance

Regular cleaning and maintenance are crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your ice maker.

6.1 Self-Cleaning Function

The Kismile HZB-12M features a one-touch self-cleaning function:

  1. Ensure the ice maker is empty of ice and water.
  2. Fill the water tank with clean water.
  3. Press and hold the Clean Button (refer to your control panel for the specific icon, often a brush or water droplet symbol) for approximately 3-5 seconds to activate the 20-minute self-cleaning cycle.
  4. Once the cycle is complete, drain the water from the unit using the drain plug at the bottom.

6.2 Manual Cleaning

  • Daily/Weekly: Remove the ice basket and water tank. Wash them with mild detergent and warm water, then rinse thoroughly.
  • Interior: Wipe the interior surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with a mild cleaning solution. Ensure all areas are dry before reassembling.
  • Descaling: It is recommended to descale the unit twice a week to prevent mineral buildup, especially in hard water areas. Use a descaling solution suitable for ice makers or a mixture of water and vinegar. Follow the product instructions for the descaling agent.
  • Exterior: Wipe the exterior with a soft, damp cloth.

6.3 Draining Water

To drain residual water from the unit, locate the drain plug at the bottom of the ice maker. Place a container underneath, remove the plug, and allow all water to drain. Replace the plug securely afterward.
