1. Safety Instructions
Please read all safety warnings and instructions carefully before using this product to prevent injury or damage. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Electrical Safety: Always unplug the heater from the power outlet before performing any maintenance, cleaning, or when handling the heater. Ensure your hands are dry when plugging or unplugging the unit.
- Full Submersion: The heater must be fully submerged in water at all times during operation. Operating the heater out of water will trigger the 'E1' power-off protection and can cause damage.
- Placement: Install the heater in an area with good water flow to ensure even heat distribution. Avoid placing it in dead corners of the tank. Do not place it upside down or partially submerged.
- Overheating Protection: The heater features an 'E2' over-temperature protection that stops heating and triggers an alarm if the water temperature exceeds 97.7°F (36.5°C) or is more than 2°F higher than the set temperature.
- Explosion-Proof Design: Constructed with dual quartz glass and a protective ABS cover to prevent cracking and direct contact with heating elements, reducing burn risk for aquatic life.
- Child Lock: The controller includes a child lock feature. Hold the button for 2 seconds to unlock before operation.
- Aquarium Use Only: This product is designed exclusively for use in freshwater and saltwater aquariums. Do not use it for any other purpose.

4.2 Mode Setting
The heater offers two operating modes:
- Red Light (Precision Mode): The heater activates when the water temperature is 1°F below the set temperature.
- Green Light (Energy-Saving Mode): The heater activates when the water temperature is 2°F below the set temperature, conserving energy.
To switch between modes, press the left-side button briefly. The indicator light will change accordingly.
5. Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater:
- Disconnect Power: Always unplug the heater from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Prepare Cleaning Solution: Prepare approximately 2.5 liters of water below 40°C (104°F). Pour a descaling agent containing citric acid into a basin and stir evenly. Note: Do not touch the scale remover solution directly with your hands.
- Immerse Heater: Fully immerse the heater rod in the solution for about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Clean and Rinse: After the scale gradually dissolves, take out the heater, clean it thoroughly with a soft-bristled brush, and then rinse it with clean water at least twice before re-installing it in the aquarium.

6. Troubleshooting Guide
If you encounter issues with your hygger aquarium heater, refer to the following guide:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| 'E1' Error Code / Power Off | Heater is exposed above the water surface (water-off protection activated). | Ensure the heater is fully submerged in water. Check water level and adjust if necessary. |
| 'E2' Error Code / Over-temperature Alarm | Water temperature is more than 2°F higher than the set temperature, or exceeds 97.7°F (36.5°C). | Check the set temperature. Ensure proper water circulation. If ambient temperature is high, consider reducing the set temperature or using a chiller. |
| Heater Not Heating | Power not connected, set temperature is too low, or heater is in energy-saving mode and water is not cold enough. | Verify power connection. Increase the set temperature. Switch to Precision Mode if faster heating is desired. Ensure the heater is fully submerged. |
| Inconsistent Temperature | Poor water circulation around the heater. | Relocate the heater to an area with better water flow, such as near a filter outlet or powerhead. |
