The TFA-ID Wind Transmitter features a robust design for outdoor use, incorporating a solar panel for primary power and backup batteries for continuous operation. It measures wind speed using rotating cups and wind direction with a wind vane.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the wind transmitter.
  2. Ensure the pre-installed 18650 Li-Ion battery is properly seated. This battery is charged by the solar panel.
  3. Insert the 2 x 1.5V AA backup batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-). These batteries provide power when solar charging is insufficient.
  4. Close the battery compartment securely to protect against moisture.

2. Mounting the Wind Transmitter

Proper placement is crucial for accurate readings. The wind transmitter should be mounted in an open area, free from obstructions that could interfere with wind flow.
