1. Safety Information

Read this manual thoroughly before operating your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike. Failure to follow instructions and safety warnings may result in serious injury or property damage. Retain this manual for future reference.

General Safety Guidelines:

• Always wear a helmet and appropriate safety gear when riding.
• Perform a pre-ride inspection before each use, checking brakes, tires, battery, and all fasteners.
• Obey all local traffic laws and regulations. Ride defensively and be aware of your surroundings.
• Do not ride under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Avoid riding in adverse weather conditions (heavy rain, snow, ice) or low visibility.
• Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.
• Ensure the battery is securely locked in place before riding.
• Do not modify the bike's electrical system or motor.

Battery Safety:

• Use only the charger provided by CBVELO.
• Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or fire.
• Do not immerse the battery in water.
• If the battery is damaged, discontinue use and contact support.

2. Package Contents

Upon receiving your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike, carefully unpack all components and verify that the following items are included:

• 52V 40Ah Lithium-ion Battery
• Battery Charger

If any items are missing or damaged, please contact CBVELO customer support immediately.

3. Assembly Instructions

Your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike arrives partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly:

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain packaging materials until assembly is complete and you are satisfied with the product.

3.2 Handlebar Installation

1. Loosen the bolts on the stem clamp located at the top of the front fork.
2. Position the handlebar into the stem, ensuring it is centered and the brake levers and shifters are easily accessible.
3. Tighten the stem clamp bolts securely, alternating between bolts to ensure even pressure.

3.3 Front Wheel Installation

1. Carefully lift the front of the bike.
2. Align the front wheel with the fork dropouts. Ensure the brake rotor slides correctly into the brake caliper.
3. Insert the quick-release skewer or axle through the wheel hub and fork dropouts.
4. Securely tighten the quick-release lever or axle nuts. Ensure the wheel spins freely without rubbing the brake pads.

3.4 Pedal Installation

Note: Pedals are marked 'L' for Left and 'R' for Right. The left pedal has a reverse thread.

1. Apply a small amount of grease to the pedal threads.
2. Screw the 'R' pedal into the right crank arm (clockwise).
3. Screw the 'L' pedal into the left crank arm (counter-clockwise).
4. Tighten both pedals firmly with a wrench.

3.5 Seat Post Adjustment

1. Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube.
2. Adjust the seat height to a comfortable riding position (your feet should be able to touch the ground when seated, or slightly off the ground for optimal pedaling efficiency).
3. Secure the seat post by closing the quick-release lever or tightening the seat post clamp bolt.

3.6 Battery Installation and Initial Charge

1. Insert the 52V 40Ah battery into its designated compartment on the bike frame.
2. Lock the battery in place using the provided key.
3. Before your first ride, fully charge the battery using the supplied charger. Refer to Section 5.1 for detailed charging instructions.

4. Component Overview

Familiarize yourself with the key components of your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike:

4.1 Motor

The bike is equipped with a powerful 5000W brushless motor, integrated into the rear wheel hub. This motor provides robust assistance for climbing hills and reaching higher speeds.

4.2 Full Suspension System

The full suspension system, featuring both front and rear shock absorbers, is designed to absorb impacts and vibrations from uneven terrain, providing a smoother and more comfortable ride. The front suspension is adjustable.

4.3 Battery

A high-capacity 52V 40Ah lithium-ion battery powers the electric motor, offering an extended range per charge. The battery is integrated into the bike's frame for protection and a sleek design.

4.4 LCD Display

The handlebar-mounted LCD display provides essential riding information, including current speed, distance traveled, battery level, and pedal assist level. It also features an integrated USB port for charging external devices.

4.5 Lighting System

The bike includes a powerful headlight for visibility during night riding and a reactive taillight for increased safety and awareness from the rear.

4.6 26" x 4.0" Fat Tires

The wide, knobby 26-inch by 4.0-inch fat tires provide superior grip and stability across various terrains, including dirt, gravel, sand, and snow.

4.7 Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Equipped with hydraulic disc brakes, the bike offers reliable and powerful stopping performance in all weather conditions, enhancing rider safety and control.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Charging the Battery

1. Ensure the bike is turned off.
2. Locate the charging port on the bike frame or remove the battery for external charging.
3. Connect the charger to the battery charging port, then plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
4. The charger indicator light will typically show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.
5. Disconnect the charger once charging is complete. Do not overcharge.

5.2 Pre-Ride Checks

Before each ride, perform the following checks:

• Tires: Check tire pressure. Recommended pressure is typically printed on the tire sidewall.
• Brakes: Squeeze both brake levers to ensure they engage properly and stop the wheels effectively.
• Fasteners: Verify all bolts, nuts, and quick-release levers are securely tightened.
• Battery: Ensure the battery is fully charged and securely locked into the frame.
• Handlebar & Seat: Confirm handlebar and seat are properly aligned and tightened.

5.3 Powering On/Off

To power on the bike, press and hold the power button on the LCD display for a few seconds. The display will illuminate. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.

5.4 Riding Modes

Your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike offers three riding modes:

• Pedal Assist Mode: The motor provides assistance as you pedal. You can adjust the level of assistance (typically 1-5) using the '+' and '-' buttons on the display. Higher levels provide more power.
• Throttle Mode: Engage the throttle (usually a twist grip or thumb lever) to propel the bike without pedaling. This mode provides full motor power up to the set speed limit.
• Manual (Classic Bike) Mode: With the power off, the bike functions as a traditional bicycle, relying solely on pedal power.

5.5 Using the LCD Display

The LCD display allows you to monitor your ride and adjust settings:

• Speed: Displays current riding speed.
• Battery Life: Indicates remaining battery charge.
• Pedal Assist Level: Shows the current level of motor assistance.
• Mileage: Tracks trip distance or total odometer.
• USB Port: Use the integrated USB port to charge your mobile devices while riding.

5.6 Shifting Gears

The bike features a 7-speed gear system. Use the shifter on the handlebar to change gears according to terrain and desired pedaling effort. Shift to a lower gear for climbing and a higher gear for flat terrain or descents.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike.

6.1 Battery Care

• Charge the battery regularly, even if not using the bike frequently. Avoid letting it fully discharge.
• Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to 50-70% capacity and check it every few months.

6.2 Cleaning

• Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid high-pressure washers, which can damage electrical components.
• Do not spray water directly onto the motor, battery compartment, or display.
• Dry the bike thoroughly after cleaning.

6.3 Brake Maintenance

• Regularly inspect brake pads for wear and replace them when necessary.
• Check brake fluid levels for hydraulic brakes and bleed the system if braking feels spongy.
• Ensure brake rotors are clean and free of oil or grease.

6.4 Tire Maintenance

• Maintain correct tire pressure as indicated on the tire sidewall.
• Inspect tires for cuts, punctures, or excessive wear.

6.5 Chain Lubrication

Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth shifting and prevent premature wear. Use a bicycle-specific chain lubricant.
