1. Safety Information

2. Package Contents

Upon receiving your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike, carefully unpack all components and verify that the following items are included:

3. Assembly Instructions

Your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike arrives partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly:

3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Retain packaging materials until assembly is complete and you are satisfied with the product.

3.2 Handlebar Installation

  1. Loosen the bolts on the stem clamp located at the top of the front fork.
  2. Position the handlebar into the stem, ensuring it is centered and the brake levers and shifters are easily accessible.
  3. Tighten the stem clamp bolts securely, alternating between bolts to ensure even pressure.

3.3 Front Wheel Installation

  1. Carefully lift the front of the bike.
  2. Align the front wheel with the fork dropouts. Ensure the brake rotor slides correctly into the brake caliper.
  3. Insert the quick-release skewer or axle through the wheel hub and fork dropouts.
  4. Securely tighten the quick-release lever or axle nuts. Ensure the wheel spins freely without rubbing the brake pads.

3.4 Pedal Installation

Note: Pedals are marked 'L' for Left and 'R' for Right. The left pedal has a reverse thread.

  1. Apply a small amount of grease to the pedal threads.
  2. Screw the 'R' pedal into the right crank arm (clockwise).
  3. Screw the 'L' pedal into the left crank arm (counter-clockwise).
  4. Tighten both pedals firmly with a wrench.

3.5 Seat Post Adjustment

  1. Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube.
  2. Adjust the seat height to a comfortable riding position (your feet should be able to touch the ground when seated, or slightly off the ground for optimal pedaling efficiency).
  3. Secure the seat post by closing the quick-release lever or tightening the seat post clamp bolt.

3.6 Battery Installation and Initial Charge

  1. Insert the 52V 40Ah battery into its designated compartment on the bike frame.
  2. Lock the battery in place using the provided key.
  3. Before your first ride, fully charge the battery using the supplied charger. Refer to Section 5.1 for detailed charging instructions.

4. Component Overview

Familiarize yourself with the key components of your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike:

4.1 Motor

4.2 Full Suspension System

4.3 Battery

4.4 LCD Display

The handlebar-mounted LCD display provides essential riding information, including current speed, distance traveled, battery level, and pedal assist level. It also features an integrated USB port for charging external devices.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Charging the Battery

  1. Ensure the bike is turned off.
  2. Locate the charging port on the bike frame or remove the battery for external charging.
  3. Connect the charger to the battery charging port, then plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. The charger indicator light will typically show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.
  5. Disconnect the charger once charging is complete. Do not overcharge.

5.2 Pre-Ride Checks

  • Tires: Check tire pressure. Recommended pressure is typically printed on the tire sidewall.

5.3 Powering On/Off

To power on the bike, press and hold the power button on the LCD display for a few seconds. The display will illuminate. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the display turns off.

5.4 Riding Modes

Your CBVELO Electric Mountain Bike offers three riding modes:

  • Pedal Assist Mode: The motor provides assistance as you pedal. You can adjust the level of assistance (typically 1-5) using the '+' and '-' buttons on the display. Higher levels provide more power.
  • Throttle Mode: Engage the throttle (usually a twist grip or thumb lever) to propel the bike without pedaling. This mode provides full motor power up to the set speed limit.
  • Manual (Classic Bike) Mode: With the power off, the bike functions as a traditional bicycle, relying solely on pedal power.

5.5 Using the LCD Display

The LCD display allows you to monitor your ride and adjust settings:

6. Maintenance
