  2. Connect one end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to your device's full-featured Type-C port.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to the Type-C interface on the monitor. Do not connect to the DC IN port for this method.

  4. Connect the USB-A end of the power cable to a power adapter (included) and plug it into a wall outlet, or to a powered USB-A port on your device.
  5. The monitor will power on and display the signal from your device.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your ZSCMALLS Portable Monitor, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-specific cleaning solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals, alcohol, or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monitor's casing.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in its protective cover in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the monitor or subjecting it to strong impacts. Do not place heavy objects on top of it.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the monitor's ventilation openings are not blocked to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Signal / Black Screen

  • Check Cable Connections: Ensure all cables (USB-C, HDMI, power) are securely connected to both the monitor and your device.
  • Verify Power: Confirm the monitor is receiving power. If using HDMI, ensure the DC IN port is connected to a power source.
  • Source Selection: Use the OSD menu to manually select the correct input source (USB-C or HDMI).
  • Device Output: Ensure your connected device (laptop, PC, console) is configured to output video to an external display. Try pressing Windows Key + P on Windows or checking Display Settings on macOS.

7.2 Compatibility Issues

Image: Guide to identifying full-featured Type-C ports for monitor compatibility.

  • USB-C Port Functionality: For single-cable USB-C connection, your laptop's Type-C port must be full-featured, supporting Thunderbolt 3/4, Data + Video Transfer, or Data + DisplayPort Alt Mode. Ports that are 'Only Data Transfer' or 'Only Charging' will not work for video output.
  • Phone/Tablet Display: Phones and tablets typically support full-screen display in landscape mode. In portrait mode, they may only display the center area on the monitor and might not support full-screen display.
Attention notice regarding phone and tablet display modes, emphasizing the use of original USB-C display cable and power adapter.

Image: Important notes on phone/tablet display and cable usage.

  • Cable Quality: Always use the original USB-C display cable and power adapter provided with the monitor. Other cables or adapters may not provide sufficient power or data transfer capabilities.
  • Adapters: Some devices may require an additional adapter to connect to the monitor.
