Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the lock box.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 4 AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

The lock box can also be powered via the USB-C port for emergency power or continuous operation. Battery life is approximately 12 months, depending on usage.

2. Initial Power On

Once batteries are installed or the USB-C cable is connected, the display on the control panel will activate, indicating the current time setting and battery level.

Operating Instructions

1. Control Panel Overview

The control panel features a digital display and several buttons for setting the timer and managing the lock box. The display shows current battery level, child locking icon, and the locked/unlocked status, along with the set time in days, hours, and minutes.

2. Setting the Timer and Locking

1. Press the Settings button (gear icon) to select the time unit (minutes, hours, or days) from right to left on the display.
2. Use the Up (^) or Down (v) buttons to adjust the selected time value. Hold the button for rapid adjustment.
3. After setting the desired time, press the Lock button (padlock icon). This initiates a short countdown, after which the box will automatically lock.
4. During the initial countdown (before the box locks), any button may be pressed to cancel the lock. Once locked, the box cannot be opened until the timer expires.
5. To extend the lock time while the box is already locked, press and hold the Up (^) button. This will add time to the current countdown.

3. Emergency Unlocking Function

The lock box includes an emergency unlocking feature for urgent situations. This is not intended for daily bypass.

1. To obtain the Device ID, press the Up (^) and Down (v) buttons simultaneously. A 6-digit Device ID will appear on the screen.
2. Contact Vaydeer customer support via Amazon with your 6-digit Device ID.
3. Support will provide an unlocking code. Enter this code into the lock box to open it.

Important Note: The first emergency unlock service is typically free. Subsequent emergency unlocks may incur a service fee. Refer to the included Emergency Unlocking Service Card for specific terms and conditions.

4. Charging Devices While Locked

The lock box features a slim slot designed to allow a USB-C charging cable to pass through, enabling you to charge your devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet) even when they are securely locked inside.

5. Dual-Action Child Lock

To prevent unintended changes to the timer settings by children, the lock box incorporates a dual-action child lock. This feature requires specific button combinations or sequences to adjust settings, making it difficult for young children to operate.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the lock box with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the surface. Ensure no liquid enters the electronic components or charging port.

2. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the display shows low power, replace the 4 AA batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation and prevent data loss. Refer to the Battery Installation section for instructions. Exercise caution when removing batteries, as some users have reported difficulty; avoid using sharp tools that could damage the batteries or compartment.

Troubleshooting

• Box Not Locking: Ensure the lid is fully closed and properly aligned. Check battery level. If the timer is set to 0, it will not lock.
• Display Not Working: Check battery installation and level. Try replacing batteries or connecting the USB-C power cable.
• Difficulty Removing Batteries: Some battery compartments may have tight tabs. Gently pry batteries out using a non-metallic tool to avoid damage.
• Accidental Lock / Need Urgent Access: Use the Emergency Unlocking Function as described in the Operating Instructions. Remember that fees may apply after the first use.
• Timer Not Counting Down: Ensure the lock sequence was completed after setting the time. If power was lost, the power-free memory should retain the countdown.
