4.4 TV Stick & Box Compatibility

The projector is compatible with various TV sticks and set-top boxes. Simply plug your device into the appropriate port (e.g., HDMI) and select the corresponding input source on the projector's home screen.

Important Note: Due to HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) agreements, direct screen mirroring may not work for content from certain apps (e.g., Hulu, Netflix). For these applications, it is recommended to use a TV Stick/Chromecast plugged directly into the projector, or connect a laptop/computer via HDMI.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your projector.

  • Cleaning the Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe the projector's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners directly on the device.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the projector's ventilation openings are clear and unobstructed to prevent overheating. The built-in cooling system requires proper airflow.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the projector in a cool, dry place, protected from dust and direct sunlight.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your XBJ R8 Mini Projector, refer to the following common solutions:

  • No Image/Sound during Screen Mirroring (Streaming Apps): This is often due to HDCP protection. Use a TV Stick/Chromecast or connect a laptop via HDMI for content from apps like Hulu or Netflix.
  • Blurry Image: Adjust the manual focus ring on the projector until the image is clear. Ensure the projection surface is flat and the projector is at an appropriate distance.
  • Image Not Rectangular: Use the keystone correction feature in the [Setting] menu to adjust the image shape.
  • No Wi-Fi Connection: Ensure the Wi-Fi password is entered correctly. Try restarting the projector and your Wi-Fi router. Ensure the projector is within range of your Wi-Fi network.
  • No Sound: Check the projector's volume settings and ensure any external audio devices are properly connected and powered on. If using HDMI, check your source device's audio output settings.
  • Remote Control Not Responding: Check the batteries in the remote control. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the projector's IR receiver.
  • Overheating: Ensure the projector's vents are not blocked. Operate the projector in a well-ventilated area.
