1. Safety Information

Your safety is paramount. Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the Likebike U12 electric bike. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious injury or damage to the product.

  • Pre-Ride Inspection: Always check that all components, including brakes, tires, and battery connections, are secure and functioning correctly before each ride.
  • Age Recommendation: Riders under 16 years of age should only use the electric bike under adult supervision.
  • Battery Safety: The 48V 20Ah battery is UL-certified and designed with waterproof and anti-theft features. It can be safely charged indoors or outdoors. Use only the provided 3A charger.
  • Visibility: Utilize the bright front headlight and rear light with reflective and turn-signal functions for enhanced visibility, especially during nighttime or low-light conditions.
  • Braking: The mechanical disc brakes provide strong, responsive stopping power. Familiarize yourself with their operation in various conditions.
  • Weight Limit: Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 330 lbs (approximately 150 kg).
  • Terrain: This electric bike is designed for mixed terrain. Exercise caution and adjust your riding style to suit the conditions.

2. Setup and Assembly

The Likebike U12 electric bike arrives 90% pre-assembled. Follow these steps and refer to the assembly video for detailed guidance to complete the remaining setup.

2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection

Carefully remove the bike from its packaging. Inspect all components for any signs of damage during transit. Ensure all parts listed in the packing list are present.

2.2 Rear Fender and Taillight Installation

Attach the rear fender and taillight to the rear frame of the bike. Ensure all screws are tightened securely. The taillight provides crucial visibility from the rear.

2.3 Front Wheel and Fender Installation

Install the front fender onto the front fork. Then, carefully align and install the front wheel, ensuring the brake disc is correctly positioned within the caliper. Secure the wheel with the quick-release skewer or axle nuts. Note: The arrow mark on the brake disc should be assembled counterclockwise. Do not use the brake handle before the assembly is completed after removing the yellow gasket from the brake caliper.

2.4 Handlebar and Headlight Attachment

Attach the handlebar to the stem, ensuring it is centered and aligned. Tighten the stem bolts securely. Install the retro headlight onto the front fork and connect its wiring. Note: The black cover and screw on the top need to be used for handlebar assembly. After tightening the top screw, tighten the two screws on the side. Tighten the four screws at the front in the order shown in the video. Avoid uneven locking pressure.

2.5 Pedal Installation

Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The right pedal turns clockwise to tighten, and the left pedal turns counterclockwise to tighten. Ensure they are securely fastened to the crank arms.

2.6 Battery Installation and Charging

Insert the 48V 20Ah removable battery into its compartment on the bike frame. Lock it securely with the provided key. Before your first ride, fully charge the battery using the 3A charger. Charging typically takes 5-7 hours. The battery level indicator light can only be checked after the battery switch is turned on.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Powering On/Off and Display

To power on the bike, ensure the battery is installed and locked, then press the power button on the battery. The intelligent LCD display will activate, showing real-time data such as speed, distance, and battery level. Use the controls on the handlebar to navigate display options and adjust settings.

3.2 Riding Modes and Gears

The Likebike U12 offers 3 distinct riding modes and a 7-speed transmission system:

  • Pedal Assist Mode (PAS): Provides motor assistance as you pedal. This mode offers an impressive range of up to 100 miles depending on load and terrain.
  • Throttle Mode: Allows you to propel the bike using only the throttle, similar to a motorcycle. This mode offers a range of approximately 50 miles.
  • Manual Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle, using only pedal power.

Use the 7-speed gears to adapt to different environments, from city streets to rugged trails or sandy beaches. The 2000W peak brushless motor can reach top speeds of up to 32 mph and easily conquer 35-degree steep slopes.

3.3 Braking System

The electric bike is equipped with mechanical disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels. Apply both brakes simultaneously for optimal stopping power. Familiarize yourself with the brake levers and their responsiveness before riding at higher speeds or on challenging terrain.

3.4 All-Terrain Riding

The 20" x 4" puncture-resistant fat tires and dual suspension system (front and rear) provide excellent traction and stability, absorbing bumps and vibrations for a smoother ride across various terrains, including city streets, rugged trails, and sandy beaches.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your Likebike U12 electric bike.

  • Tire Pressure: Regularly check and maintain the recommended tire pressure for optimal performance and safety.
  • Brake Inspection: Inspect brake pads and rotors for wear. Ensure brake levers are responsive and cables are not frayed.
  • Chain Lubrication: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent wear.
  • Fasteners: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners, especially on the handlebars, wheels, and seat, to ensure they are tight.
  • Battery Care: Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods. Charge regularly, even if not in use.
  • Cleaning: Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Likebike U12 electric bike.
