1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your MMS 1 Ton Mini Excavator, model PC10Y. Please read this manual thoroughly before operating the machine to ensure proper usage and to prevent damage or injury.

The MMS PC10Y is a compact 1-ton mini excavator equipped with a 13.5 HP gasoline engine, designed for various tasks including trenching, farming, construction, and gardening. It features a mechanical thumb clamp and a canopy for operator comfort and functionality.

2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow safety instructions can result in serious injury or death.

  • Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  • Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, especially children and pets.
  • Inspect the excavator before each use for any damage, loose parts, or fluid leaks.
  • Operate the machine on stable, level ground whenever possible. Be aware of slopes and uneven terrain.
  • Never operate the excavator under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Keep hands and feet clear of moving parts.
  • Familiarize yourself with all controls and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Do not exceed the machine's rated lifting capacity.

3. Setup and Initial Preparation

3.1 Unpacking and Assembly

The MMS PC10Y mini excavator is shipped fully assembled. Upon arrival, carefully inspect the packaging and the machine for any signs of shipping damage. Report any damage immediately to the carrier and supplier.

Remove all packing materials. Ensure all components listed in the packing list are present. The machine comes with oil and hydraulic fluid pre-filled; however, it is recommended to verify fluid levels before first use.

3.2 Fueling the Excavator

The fuel tank is located under the operator's seat. Lift the seat to access the fuel tank cap.

  1. Ensure the engine is off and cool before refueling.
  2. Carefully lift the operator's seat to expose the fuel tank.
  3. Unscrew the fuel cap.
  4. Fill with unleaded gasoline. Do not overfill.
  5. Securely replace the fuel cap and lower the seat.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Starting the Engine

  1. Ensure the power switch (located near the seat) is in the ON position.
  2. Open the throttle handle to a suitable position.
  3. Pull out the engine choke.
  4. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to start the engine.
  5. Once the engine starts, immediately push the choke back to its original position.

4.2 Basic Controls and Movement

The excavator is controlled by intuitive levers. Familiarize yourself with the functions of each lever before operating the machine under load.

  • Left Joystick: Controls the swing of the boom and the movement of the arm.
  • Right Joystick: Controls the boom lift/lower and bucket curl/dump.
  • Foot Pedals: Control track movement (forward/backward) and dozer blade operation.
  • Throttle: Adjusts engine RPM for desired power and speed.

4.3 Using the Retractable Dozer Blade

The dozer blade can be fully extended to 900 mm in width, providing increased stability during operation, especially when working sideways. Use the foot pedals to raise or lower the blade.

4.4 Attachment Compatibility

The PC10Y supports various attachments for different tasks. The standard bucket is included. Other attachments such as grapples, rippers, augers, sand buckets, rakes, and breakers are sold separately.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and optimal performance of your MMS PC10Y mini excavator. Always ensure the machine is turned off and cooled down before performing any maintenance.

5.1 Daily Checks

  • Check engine oil level.
  • Inspect hydraulic fluid level.
  • Check fuel level.
  • Inspect tracks for damage or excessive wear.
  • Verify all controls operate smoothly.
  • Clean any debris from the engine compartment and radiator fins.

5.2 Scheduled Maintenance
