- Read All Instructions: Familiarize yourself with the controls and proper use of the lawn mower.
- Wear Appropriate Attire: Always wear safety glasses or goggles, long pants, and sturdy footwear. Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in moving parts.
- Clear the Area: Before mowing, clear the area of objects such as rocks, toys, wires, or other debris that could be thrown by the blade.
- Keep Bystanders Away: Ensure children, pets, and other people are at a safe distance from the mowing area.
- Avoid Wet Grass: Do not operate the mower in wet conditions, as this can cause slipping and reduce cutting efficiency.
- Inspect Before Use: Check the mower for any damaged parts, loose fasteners, or worn blades before each use.

4. Assembly and Setup
4.1 Handle Assembly
The mower's handle is designed for compact storage and requires unfolding and securing before use. Loosen the quick-release knobs on the sides of the handle, unfold the upper handle section, and tighten the knobs to secure it in the operating position. Ensure the handle is firmly locked to prevent movement during operation.
4.2 Grass Collection Bag Assembly
Assemble the grass collection bag by attaching the fabric bag to the frame. Once assembled, lift the rear discharge flap on the mower and hook the grass bag onto the mower's frame. Ensure it is securely attached to prevent grass clippings from escaping.

4.3 Battery Installation and Charging
Insert the fully charged 40V 4.0Ah batteries into the battery compartments located under the clear cover on top of the mower. Ensure they click into place. To charge the batteries, place them into the dual-port charger and connect the charger to a standard power outlet. The indicator lights on the charger will show the charging status.

4.4 Adjusting Cutting Height
The mower features a 5-position cutting height adjustment lever. Locate the lever on the side of the mower. Move the lever to select your desired cutting height, ranging from 1.4 inches (35mm) to 3 inches (75mm). Adjust the height based on grass type and desired lawn appearance.

5. Operation
5.1 Starting the Mower
The MZK lawn mower incorporates a 2-step safety start mechanism to prevent accidental activation. First, press and hold the safety button, then pull the bail switch lever towards the handle. Release the safety button once the motor starts. The motor will stop when the bail switch lever is released.

5.2 Mowing Techniques
For best results, mow in straight, overlapping lines. Avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time. If the grass is very tall, it may be necessary to make two passes, raising the cutting height for the first pass. Maintain a steady pace to ensure an even cut.
5.3 2-in-1 Cutting Options: Mulching and Bagging
Your MZK lawn mower offers two cutting modes: mulching and rear bagging.
- Rear Bagging: Attach the grass collection bag as described in Section 4.2. This mode collects clippings for disposal or composting.
- Mulching: Remove the grass collection bag and ensure the mulching plug (if included or pre-installed) is in place. This mode finely chops grass clippings and returns them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your lawn mower.
6.1 Cleaning the Mower
After each use, disconnect the batteries and clean the mower deck, blade, and wheels. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. Do not use water directly on electrical components. For stubborn dirt, a damp cloth can be used, followed by drying.
6.2 Blade Care
Periodically inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or damaged blade can lead to poor cutting performance and strain the motor. If the blade is dull, it can be sharpened by a qualified service technician. If the blade is bent or cracked, it must be replaced with an MZK genuine replacement blade. Always wear heavy-duty gloves when handling the blade.
6.3 Battery Care and Storage
Store batteries in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Do not store fully discharged batteries; charge them before storage. For long-term storage, charge batteries every 3-6 months to maintain their health. Do not expose batteries to water or fire.
6.4 Grass Bag Cleaning
Empty the grass collection bag regularly. For thorough cleaning, the fabric bag can be rinsed with water and allowed to air dry completely before reattaching or storing.
