2. Safety Guidelines

Your safety is paramount. Adhere to the following guidelines to prevent injury or damage.

2.1 General Safety

  • Always wear a certified helmet and appropriate safety gear.
  • Familiarize yourself with and obey all local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Perform a pre-ride inspection before each use, checking brakes, tire pressure, battery level, and all fasteners.
  • Do not operate the e-bike under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

2.2 Battery Safety

The ASKGO G26 features a UL 2849 certified battery, ensuring compliance with safety standards for electric bicycles. Despite this certification, proper handling is crucial:

  • Use only the charger provided with your e-bike.
  • Do not expose the battery to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for extended periods.
  • Avoid puncturing, dropping, or otherwise damaging the battery.
  • If the battery shows signs of damage or overheating, discontinue use immediately and contact support.

3. Setup and Initial Assembly

Your ASKGO G26 Folding Electric Bike comes partially assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly and prepare for your first ride.

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  • Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
  • Inspect all parts for any signs of shipping damage. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact customer support immediately.
  • Ensure the included charger is present.

3.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Unfold the Frame: Carefully unfold the main frame of the bike until it locks into place. Secure any quick-release levers.
  2. Install Handlebars: Insert the handlebar stem into the head tube and tighten the clamping mechanism. Adjust the handlebar height to a comfortable position.
  3. Install Seat Post: Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube. Adjust the seat height for proper leg extension and secure it with the quick-release lever.
  4. Attach Pedals: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. Thread the left pedal counter-clockwise and the right pedal clockwise into the crank arms. Tighten securely with a wrench.
  5. Check Front Wheel: Ensure the front wheel is securely installed in the fork. The quick-release skewer or axle nuts should be properly tightened.
  6. Initial Battery Charge: Before your first ride, fully charge the battery. Refer to the 'Charging the Battery' section for detailed instructions.

4. Operating Your ASKGO G26

Learn how to power on, select riding modes, and utilize the features of your electric bike.

4.1 Powering On and Off

To power on the e-bike, press and hold the power button on the LCD display. To power off, press and hold the same button until the display turns off.

4.2 Riding Modes

The ASKGO G26 offers three riding modes to suit various preferences and terrains:

  • Pure Electric Mode (Throttle): Engage the throttle for motor assistance without pedaling.
  • Pedal Assist Mode (PAS): The motor provides assistance as you pedal. The level of assistance can be adjusted.
  • Normal Bike Mode: Ride the bike like a traditional bicycle with no motor assistance.

4.3 LCD Display and Controls

To switch speed units (Kilometers to Miles) and reach 20MPH in PAS mode:

  • Double-click the 'Menu' button to switch speed units. Max speed can reach 20MPH when pedaling.
  • Three-click the 'Menu' button to switch between kilometer and mile units.
