Setup

1. Charging the Battery

Two DURLK walkie talkies charging in their base stations, and one walkie talkie charging via a USB-C cable directly.

  1. Ensure the walkie talkie is powered off before charging.
  2. Using the Charging Dock: Place the walkie talkie into the charging dock. Connect the charging dock to the power adapter using the provided USB-C cable, then plug the adapter into a power outlet. The indicator light on the dock will show charging status.
  3. Using the Type-C Port: Connect the USB-C cable directly to the Type-C charging port on the side of the walkie talkie. Connect the other end to the power adapter and plug into an outlet.
  4. A full charge typically takes several hours. The battery icon on the LCD display will indicate charging progress.

2. Attaching the Belt Clip

Align the belt clip with the screw holes on the back of the walkie talkie. Use the provided screws to securely attach the belt clip. Ensure it is firmly fastened before use.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

To power on or off the walkie talkie, rotate the Volume/Power knob located at the top of the device clockwise to turn on, and counter-clockwise until it clicks to turn off.

2. Setting Channel and Privacy Code

  1. Turn on both walkie talkies you wish to connect.
  2. Press the MENU button once to enter channel selection mode. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select your desired main channel (1-22).
  3. Press the MENU button again to enter privacy code selection mode. Use the Up/Down arrow buttons to select your desired privacy code (1-121 CTCSS).
  4. Press the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button to confirm your settings. Both walkie talkies must be set to the same main channel and privacy code to communicate.

3. Push-to-Talk (PTT)

To transmit your voice, press and hold either of the PTT buttons. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to listen for a response.

4. VOX (Voice Activated Transmit) Function

The VOX function allows for hands-free communication. To activate or adjust VOX sensitivity (3 levels available), refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual. When activated, the radio will transmit automatically when it detects your voice.

5. NOAA Weather Alert

Your DURLK walkie talkie includes 11 integrated NOAA weather channels. To access these channels and receive real-time weather forecasts and emergency alerts, consult the full user manual for specific activation steps. Note: NOAA signal reception may vary depending on your location, terrain, and signal coverage.

6. LED Flashlight

To activate the built-in LED flashlight, press the dedicated Flashlight Button located on the side of the device. Press it again to turn it off.

7. Keypad Lock

To prevent accidental changes to your settings, you can activate the keypad lock. Refer to the full user manual for instructions on how to enable and disable this feature.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the walkie talkie. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the walkie talkies in a cool, dry place when not in use. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods.
  • Battery Care: Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Recharge regularly to prolong battery life.
