Setup

Mounting the Dash Cam

The VIOFO A229 Ultra uses adhesive mounts for secure attachment to your vehicle's windshield and rear window.

1. Clean the mounting surface on your windshield and rear window thoroughly.
2. Apply the provided windshield static stickers to the desired mounting locations.
3. Peel off the protective film from the 3M adhesive on the front camera mount and firmly press it onto the static sticker on the windshield.
4. Repeat the process for the rear camera and interior camera, ensuring optimal viewing angles.
5. Connect the rear and interior cameras to the main front unit using the provided cables.

Power Connection

Connect the car charger to your vehicle's 12V power outlet.

Plug the Type-C data cable from the car charger into the main front camera unit.

Ensure all cables are neatly routed and tucked away to avoid obstructing your view or interfering with vehicle operation. Use the trim removal tool if necessary.

MicroSD Card Installation

The dash cam requires a high-endurance microSD card (sold separately) for reliable recording.

Insert the microSD card into the designated slot on the main front camera unit. Ensure it clicks into place.

It is recommended to format the microSD card via the dash cam's settings menu after installation.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on.

It will automatically power off when the ignition is turned off.

Basic Controls (On-Device)

Use the physical buttons on the dash cam to navigate menus, start/stop recording, and access settings.

VIOFO App Usage

Download the VIOFO Dashcam app from your smartphone's app store.

Enable Wi-Fi on the dash cam (via settings or voice command).

Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (SSID and password available in settings).

• View live footage from all cameras.
• Change video settings (resolution, loop recording, HDR, etc.).
• Download recorded videos and photos to your smartphone.
• Update firmware.

Smart Voice Control

To activate 24/7 parking mode, the dash cam requires a VIOFO HK4/HK6 Hardwire Cable (sold separately).

Maintenance

MicroSD Card Care

Firmware Updates
