Introduction
The SKE SMART KEY ENERGY 1500VA/900W UPS system is an all-digital, double-conversion, online high-frequency three-phase UPS system utilizing DSP control technology. Designed for high reliability and efficiency, it provides uninterrupted power and surge protection for your electronic devices. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your UPS unit.
Key Features
- Power Protection: Safeguards desktop computers, workstations, networking devices, and home entertainment systems (e.g., modems, routers, smartphones, PCs, network-attached storage) from power interruptions and surges.
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): Protects connected devices by stabilizing incoming voltage levels, ensuring a consistent power supply.
- Multiple Outlets: Features 6 outlets for battery backup and surge protection (battery charged) and 2 outlets for surge protection only (mains electricity connected).
- Multi-functional Intelligent LCD: Displays real-time detailed information including input voltage, output voltage, battery capacity, and load capacity. The screen automatically extinguishes after 30 seconds of boot-up or when in power-saving mode; touching the power button will reactivate the backlight.
- Audible Alarm Management: When in battery mode, the UPS emits a beeping sound every 6-10 seconds to indicate an on-load state. This alarm can be silenced by lightly touching the power button. A continuous beeping alarm indicates the battery is critically low.
- Free Management Software: Includes software for unattended system shutdown and power management.
- Cooling Fan: Equipped with a cooling fan to manage high power cooling requirements.
Setup Instructions
- Unpack the UPS: Carefully remove the UPS unit and all accessories from its packaging.
- Initial Battery Connection: The UPS comes with internal batteries. Ensure they are properly connected before first use. Refer to the internal battery compartment for specific instructions if needed.
- Placement: Place the UPS in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure the cooling fan at the rear has unobstructed airflow.
- Connect to Wall Outlet: Plug the UPS power cord into a grounded wall outlet.
- Connect Devices:
- For devices requiring continuous power during outages (e.g., computers, routers), plug them into the 6 outlets labeled "Battery Backup & Surge Protected" (black outlets).
- For devices requiring only surge protection, plug them into the 2 outlets labeled "Surge Protected" (white outlets).
- Power On: Press and hold the power button on the front panel to turn on the UPS. The LCD display will illuminate.
- Software Installation (Optional): For advanced power management and unattended shutdown features, install the provided management software on your computer using the included USB cable.

Operating Instructions
Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the power button on the front panel until the LCD screen illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the UPS powers down.
Understanding the LCD Display
The intelligent LCD provides real-time status updates:
- Input Voltage: Shows the incoming voltage from the wall outlet.
- Output Voltage: Displays the voltage being supplied to connected devices.
- Battery Capacity: Indicates the current charge level of the internal batteries.
- Load Capacity: Shows the power consumption of connected devices.
- Estimated Runtime: Provides an approximation of how long the UPS can supply power on battery backup, depending on the connected load.

Managing Audible Alarms
When the UPS switches to battery mode, it will emit a beeping sound every 6-10 seconds. To silence this alarm, lightly touch the power button. The display will indicate a silent state. If the battery is about to run out, the UPS will continuously emit a beeping alarm until it powers off.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The SKE SK1500 UPS uses two 12V lead-acid batteries. While designed for durability, batteries have a finite lifespan and may require replacement over time. Consult the full product manual for detailed battery replacement instructions. It is recommended to have battery replacement performed by qualified personnel.
Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the UPS with a soft, dry cloth. Ensure the cooling fan vents are free from dust and debris to maintain optimal airflow and prevent overheating.
Troubleshooting
- UPS Not Turning On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a live wall outlet and the UPS. Check the circuit breaker on the back of the unit; reset if tripped.
- Continuous Beeping Alarm: This indicates a low battery condition. Save your work and shut down connected devices safely. The UPS will power off once the battery is depleted.
- Beeping Alarm During Power Outage: This is normal operation, indicating the UPS is running on battery power. Lightly touch the power button to mute the alarm.
- No Power to Connected Devices: Verify that devices are plugged into the "Battery Backup & Surge Protected" outlets. Check the UPS's LCD display for error messages or low battery indicators.
- Overload Indication: If the load capacity exceeds the UPS's rating, an overload warning may appear. Disconnect non-essential devices to reduce the load.
