4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Open the camera casing by unlatching the side clips.
- Locate the battery compartment. The camera requires 8 AA batteries (not included).
- Insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment. Ensure correct orientation to prevent damage.
- Close the battery compartment securely.
4.2 Micro SD Card Insertion
- The camera comes with a 32GB Micro SD card pre-installed. If you are using a different card, ensure it is a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card, up to 256GB.
- With the camera powered off, locate the Micro SD card slot.
- Insert the Micro SD card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place.
- To remove, push the card in gently until it clicks, then release to eject.
4.3 Mounting the Camera
The camera can be mounted using the included strap or the adjustable mounting support.
- Strap Mounting: Thread the provided strap through the slots on the back of the camera and secure it around a tree or pole. Adjust the strap for a tight fit.
- Support Mounting: Attach the mounting support to a wall or flat surface using the screws and wall plugs. Then, attach the camera to the support using the threaded insert at the bottom of the camera. Adjust the angle as needed.
Position the camera approximately 1-2 meters (3-6 feet) above the ground, aiming towards the area you wish to monitor. Ensure there are no obstacles directly in front of the PIR sensors.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off and Mode Selection
- Open the camera casing.
- Locate the power switch. It typically has three positions: OFF, TEST, and ON.
- OFF: Powers off the camera.
- TEST: Enters setup mode. The LCD screen will turn on, allowing you to adjust settings, view images/videos, and manually trigger the camera.
- ON: Activates the camera for automatic recording. The screen will turn off after a few seconds, and the camera will begin monitoring for motion.
5.2 Basic Settings (in TEST Mode)
Use the navigation buttons (UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, OK, MENU) to navigate the menu on the 2-inch LCD screen.
- Mode: Select between Photo, Video, or Photo+Video.
- Photo Resolution: Set photo quality (e.g., 60MP, 48MP, 36MP). Higher resolution provides more detail but uses more storage.
- Video Resolution: Set video quality (e.g., 4K, 2.7K, 1080P).
- PIR Sensitivity: Adjust motion sensor sensitivity (Low, Medium, High). High sensitivity detects smaller movements but may lead to more false triggers.
- Trigger Interval: Set the delay between consecutive triggers.
- Time-Lapse: Enable time-lapse mode to capture images at set intervals.
- Loop Recording: When enabled, the camera will overwrite the oldest files when the SD card is full.
- Date & Time: Set the current date and time.
- Password Protection: Set a password to prevent unauthorized access to camera settings and files.
5.3 Capturing Images and Videos
Once settings are configured in TEST mode, switch the camera to ON mode. The camera will automatically detect motion within its 120° wide-angle detection range and trigger within 0.1 seconds to capture photos or videos according to your settings.
5.4 Night Vision
The camera is equipped with 850nm infrared LEDs for clear night vision. These LEDs provide illumination without disturbing wildlife. The camera automatically switches to night vision mode in low-light conditions, capturing clear black and white images and videos.
5.5 Viewing and Transferring Files
- On Camera: In TEST mode, use the playback function to view captured photos and videos on the LCD screen.
- Via Computer: Connect the camera to your computer using the provided USB Type-C cable. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to copy files. Alternatively, remove the Micro SD card and insert it into a card reader connected to your computer.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and PIR sensors. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the screen or when performance degrades. Always replace all batteries at once with new ones of the same type.
- SD Card Management: Regularly format the Micro SD card in the camera's settings menu to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up important files before formatting.
- Waterproofing: The camera is IP66 rated for dust and water resistance. Ensure the battery compartment and all port covers are securely closed to maintain its waterproof integrity, especially in harsh weather conditions.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera not powering on: Check battery orientation and ensure batteries are fully charged.
- Poor image/video quality: Ensure the lens is clean. Check resolution settings. Ensure the camera is stable and not shaking during capture.
- Motion sensor not triggering: Adjust PIR sensitivity. Ensure no obstacles are blocking the sensors. Verify the camera is in ON mode.
- SD card error: Ensure the SD card is properly inserted. Try formatting the SD card in the camera's settings. If the issue persists, try a different compatible SD card.
- Night vision issues: Ensure IR LEDs are not obstructed. Check battery level, as low power can affect IR performance.
