4. Setup and Connectivity

4.1. Charging the Mouse

Before first use, fully charge the mouse using the provided USB-C cable. Connect the USB-C end to the mouse and the USB-A end to a power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter). The indicator light will show charging status.

4.2. Tri-Mode Connectivity

The M818-STD mouse offers three connection modes: 2.4GHz Wireless, Bluetooth, and Wired USB-C.

4.2.1. 2.4GHz Wireless Mode

  1. Locate the USB receiver stored in the compartment on the bottom of the mouse.
  2. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Slide the switch on the bottom of the mouse to the "2.4G" position.
  4. The mouse should connect automatically.

4.2.2. Bluetooth Mode

  1. Slide the switch on the bottom of the mouse to the "BT" position.
  2. Press and hold the Bluetooth pairing button (located near the switch) for 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
  3. On your device (PC, Mac, tablet), open Bluetooth settings and search for new devices.
  4. Select "Redragon M818-STD" from the list to pair.

4.2.3. Wired USB-C Mode

  1. Connect the USB-C cable to the front port of the mouse.
  2. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to your computer.
  3. The mouse will function as a wired mouse and charge simultaneously.

5. Operation

5.1. DPI Adjustment

The mouse features a dedicated DPI button located below the scroll wheel. Press this button to cycle through preset DPI levels. The indicator light color may change to reflect the current DPI setting.

  • Default DPI stages: 400 (Red), 800 (Blue), 1600 (Green), 2400 (Orange), 3200 (Cyan).
  • DPI can be customized from 50 to 24,000 using the Redragon software.

5.2. Programmable Buttons

The Redragon M818-STD features 6 programmable buttons. These buttons can be assigned various functions, macros, or key combinations using the Redragon software. Refer to Section 6 for software installation.

5.3. Polling Rate

The mouse supports a polling rate of up to 1000Hz, providing a 1ms response time. This can be adjusted via the Redragon software.

5.4. Battery Life and Indicator

The 400mAh battery provides up to 75 hours of usage. The mouse features an indicator light to show battery status. When the battery is low, the indicator will flash, signaling that charging is required.

6. Software Installation and Customization

To unlock the full potential of your Redragon M818-STD mouse, including DPI customization, button remapping, and macro creation, download and install the official software.

7. Maintenance

Mouse not responding:

  • For Bluetooth, ensure the mouse is paired correctly and your device's Bluetooth is enabled. Try re-pairing.
  • For wired mode, ensure the USB-C cable is properly connected to both the mouse and the computer.
  • Restart your computer.
Tracking issues or erratic movement:
  • Clean the optical sensor on the bottom of the mouse.
  • Ensure you are using the mouse on a clean, non-reflective surface or a mouse pad.
  • Adjust DPI settings using the DPI button or software.
Buttons not working:
  • Ensure the mouse is properly connected.
  • Check the Redragon software for any custom button assignments that might be interfering.
  • Test the mouse on another computer to rule out software conflicts.
