Setup
Unpacking
- Carefully remove the iron from its packaging.
- Remove any labels or protective film from the soleplate.
- Inspect the iron for any signs of damage. If damaged, do not use and contact customer support.
First Use Preparation
Before using the iron for the first time, it is recommended to:
- Fill the water tank (see 'Filling the Water Tank' below).
- Set the temperature to maximum.
- Allow the iron to heat up fully.
- Iron an old piece of fabric (e.g., a cotton cloth) for a few minutes to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may occur, which is normal.
Filling the Water Tank
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Open the water filler cap.
- Using a measuring cup, carefully pour clean tap water into the water tank up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill.
- Close the water filler cap securely.
Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
- Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
- Turn the thermostat dial to the desired temperature setting based on the fabric type. Refer to the fabric care labels on your garments.
- The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached.
Steam Functions
Steam functions are only available when the iron is set to a high temperature (typically between the '••' and '•••' settings) and the water tank is filled.
- Dry Ironing: For dry ironing, ensure the steam control is set to '0' (no steam) and the water tank is empty or the temperature is set below the steam range.
- Steam Ironing: Once the iron reaches the desired temperature, slide the steam control lever to the desired steam level.
- Steam Boost: Press the steam boost button for an extra burst of steam to remove stubborn wrinkles. Wait a few seconds between bursts.
- Vertical Steam: Hold the iron vertically, about 15-30 cm from the garment. Press the steam boost button to steam hanging clothes, curtains, or drapes.
Anti-Drip Function
The anti-drip system prevents water from dripping from the soleplate when the iron's temperature is too low for steam production. This helps protect delicate fabrics from water stains.
Maintenance
Self-Cleaning Function
Regularly use the self-cleaning function to flush out mineral deposits and impurities from the steam vents.
- Fill the water tank to the 'MAX' line.
- Set the temperature dial to maximum.
- Plug in the iron and wait for the indicator light to turn off.
- Unplug the iron.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the self-clean button. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate, carrying impurities.
- Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
- Release the self-clean button and allow the iron to cool down.
Anti-Limescale System
Your iron is equipped with an anti-limescale filter inside the water tank, which helps to reduce the buildup of limescale. This filter is permanent and does not require replacement.
Cleaning the Soleplate
- Ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool.
- Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
- Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the nonstick coating.
Storage
- Unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely.
- Empty any remaining water from the tank.
- Wrap the power cord neatly around the cord wrap area (if available) or secure it with a tie.
- Store the iron upright in a safe, dry place.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Iron does not heat up. | Not plugged in; power outlet fault; temperature dial set to 'OFF' or too low. | Check power connection; test outlet with another appliance; adjust temperature dial to desired setting. |
| No steam or insufficient steam. | Water tank empty; temperature too low for steam; steam control set to '0'; steam vents blocked. | Fill water tank; set temperature to steam range (e.g., '••' or '•••'); adjust steam control; perform self-clean cycle. |
| Water leaks from soleplate. | Temperature too low for steam (anti-drip not active); water tank overfilled; self-clean needed. | Increase temperature; do not overfill water tank; perform self-clean cycle. |
| Soleplate is dirty or sticky. | Residue from fabrics or starch buildup. | Clean soleplate with a damp cloth and mild, non-abrasive cleaner after the iron has cooled. |
