1. Safety Instructions
Please read all instructions carefully before using the CIARRA Bloombox Compact Espresso Coffee Maker. Keep this manual for future reference.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the power outlet matches the machine's voltage (230V). Do not immerse the machine, cord, or plug in water or other liquids. Unplug the machine when not in use or before cleaning.
- Hot Surfaces: The machine's heating elements and brewed coffee will be hot. Exercise caution to avoid burns. Allow the machine to cool down before handling internal components.
- Water Tank: Always ensure the water tank is filled to the appropriate level before operation. In battery mode, the Bloombox cannot heat cold water; pre-heated water is required for hot espresso. Cold water can be used for cold coffee.
- Coffee Grounds: Use only appropriate amounts of coffee grounds. Overfilling or improper tamping can affect performance and potentially damage the machine.
- Children and Pets: Keep the appliance out of reach of children and pets.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine during operation.

3. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your CIARRA Bloombox for first use:
- Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging.
- Initial Cleaning: Wash the powder bin, coffee cup, and waste water box with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth.
- Placement: Place the machine on a stable, flat surface.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the machine's port and plug it into a suitable electrical outlet. The machine can operate on battery power after charging, but heating requires a plug-in connection.

4. Operating Instructions
The CIARRA Bloombox offers simple one-touch operation for brewing your espresso.
4.1. Basic Espresso Brewing (Plug-in Mode)
- Prepare Coffee Grounds: Place coffee powder into the bottom extraction chamber. Use the provided spoon-tamper to lightly tamp the grounds.
- Assemble Unit: Align the powder bin with the main unit and twist to secure it.
- Add Water: Open the water tank cover and add hot or cold water to the tank. The tank has a 6.1oz (180ml) capacity. Close the cover securely.
- Power On & Select Temperature: Gently press the On/Off button to switch on the machine. For hot espresso, press and hold the hot/cold button to start heating water. The machine offers three temperature settings: 203°F for light roast, 197.6°F for medium roast, and 179.6°F for dark roast.
- Start Extraction: Once the water is heated (approx. 4 minutes), the machine will automatically begin extraction. Extraction typically takes about 2 minutes. The machine will beep five times when brewing is complete.

4.2. Battery Mode Operation
The Bloombox can operate on battery power for portability. However, it's important to note the following:
- In battery mode, the machine cannot heat cold water. For hot espresso, you must fill the water tank with pre-heated hot water.
- You can still brew cold coffee with cold water in battery mode.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your Bloombox.
- Daily Cleaning: After each use, remove and empty the powder bin and coffee cup. Rinse them with warm water. Empty and clean the waste water box (drip tray).
- Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Magnetic Cover: The magnetic front cover can be easily removed for cleaning and reattached.
- Storage: When not in use, ensure the machine is clean and dry. Store it in a cool, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Bloombox, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
