  2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  3. Power on the repeater unit.
  4. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to pair your device. The app will guide you through the connection process.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off

Press and hold the power button (usually indicated by a power symbol or located near the display) on the repeater unit to turn it on or off.

6.2. Temperature Unit Selection

Press the '°C/°F Amb' button on the repeater unit to toggle between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature displays. This button may also allow you to switch between meat temperature and ambient temperature display for each probe.

6.3. Using the Probes

  • Meat Temperature: Insert the tip of a probe into the thickest part of the meat, avoiding bone or gristle. Ensure the probe is fully inserted to get an accurate internal temperature reading.
  • Ambient Temperature: For monitoring oven, grill, or smoker temperature, position a probe in the cooking chamber without it touching the food or heating elements directly.

6.4. Monitoring with the App

Once paired, the app provides advanced monitoring features:

  • Real-time Readings: View current temperatures from both probes on your smartphone.
  • Target Temperature Settings: Set desired doneness levels for various meats or custom target temperatures.
  • Alarms: Receive notifications when your food reaches the target temperature or if the temperature deviates from a set range.

7. Maintenance

7.1. Cleaning

  • Probes: After each use, clean the stainless steel probes with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before storing. Do not put probes in a dishwasher.
  • Repeater Unit: Wipe the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.

7.2. Storage

Store the thermometer and probes in a clean, dry place when not in use. Ensure the probes are fully dry to prevent corrosion.

7.3. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator on the display or app shows low power, replace the 12V battery in the repeater unit following the instructions in Section 5.1.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if the battery is correctly installed and fully charged. Replace the battery if necessary.
  • No App Connection: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the repeater unit is powered on and within range. Try restarting both the app and the thermometer.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the probe is inserted correctly into the food or ambient environment. Avoid touching bones with the probe tip.
  • Probe Not Detected: Ensure the probe is fully inserted into its port on the repeater unit. Check for any visible damage to the probe or cable.
