3. Safety Information

Always operate the RA Mini Laser Rotary Roller in a well-ventilated area. Ensure that the laser engraver is turned off and unplugged before performing any setup or maintenance. Wear appropriate safety glasses to protect your eyes from laser exposure. Keep hands and loose clothing away from moving parts during operation. Do not attempt to modify the device, as this may void the warranty and pose safety risks.

4. Setup

The SCULPFUN RA Mini is designed for quick and easy setup. It comes 100% pre-installed, allowing for plug-and-play functionality.

4.1 Connecting to Your Engraver

Connect the provided motor cable from the RA Mini to the designated rotary axis port on your compatible SCULPFUN laser engraver (iCube Ultra, iCube, or C1). No complex settings are required.

4.2 Adjusting for Cylindrical Objects

The RA Mini features an easy sliding adjustment mechanism. To accommodate different diameters of cylindrical objects, simply slide the two shafts to adjust the space between them. Secure the position by hand-twisting the knob. This method is faster and more convenient than traditional multi-stage fixing hole adjustments.

4.3 Compatibility with SCULPFUN C1

When using with the SCULPFUN C1, the included C1 Height Increasing Brackets can be combined to adjust the engraver's height, allowing for materials of various diameters to be engraved.

4.4 Compatibility with SCULPFUN iCube Series

The RA Mini is compatible with the SCULPFUN iCube and iCube Ultra series. For iCube models, users may need to prepare risers to achieve the necessary height for engraving, as the maximum engraving size depends on the height of the riser used.

5. Operating Instructions

The RA Mini ensures high-precision engraving with its 70A rubber shaft, preventing slippage and maintaining a 1:1 scale for the original image without deformation.

5.1 Placing the Object for Engraving

Place the cylindrical object directly onto the RA Mini's rollers. The high-friction rubber shaft ensures stability without the need for additional clamping. The additional sliding support provided can assist in fixing and positioning engraving materials for optimal results.

5.2 Engraving Process

Once the object is securely placed and the engraver is properly positioned, initiate the engraving process through your laser engraver's software. The RA Mini's precise calculation of the rotating surface's linear speed ensures that the engraved image maintains its original scale and quality.

5.3 Supported Object Diameters

The RA Mini supports a minimum object diameter of 5mm. For maximum diameters, it supports up to 100mm with the SCULPFUN C1 and up to 85mm with the iCube Ultra.

6. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your SCULPFUN RA Mini, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the rollers and the device body with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Roller Inspection: Periodically inspect the rubber shafts for any signs of wear, damage, or accumulation of engraving residue. Clean as necessary to maintain optimal friction.
  • Cable Check: Ensure the motor cable is free from kinks or damage. A damaged cable can affect performance.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the RA Mini in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your SCULPFUN RA Mini, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Roller Not Rotating:
    • Check if the motor cable is securely connected to both the RA Mini and the laser engraver.
    • Ensure the laser engraver's rotary axis function is enabled in its software settings.
    • Verify that the engraver is powered on.
  • Engraving Deformation/Slippage:
    • Ensure the cylindrical object is placed firmly on the rollers and is not wobbling.
    • Clean the rubber shafts to remove any dust or residue that might reduce friction.
    • Confirm that the object's diameter is within the supported range (5mm minimum, 100mm/85mm maximum depending on engraver).
  • Compatibility Issues:
    • Ensure your laser engraver is a compatible SCULPFUN iCube Ultra, iCube, or C1 model.
    • For iCube models, verify that appropriate risers are used to align the object with the laser focal point.

If problems persist, please contact SCULPFUN customer support for further assistance.
