Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the OTG and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the OTG on a stable, heat-resistant, and level surface. Ensure there is adequate clearance (at least 10-15 cm) on all sides and above the appliance for proper ventilation. Do not place near flammable materials.
  3. Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the interior and exterior of the oven with a damp cloth. Wash all accessories (baking tray, grill rack, rotisserie parts, crumb tray) in warm, soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry.
  4. First Use Burn-Off: Plug the appliance into a grounded electrical outlet. Set the temperature to maximum (230°C) and the function to "Bake" (top and bottom heating elements). Run the oven empty for approximately 15-20 minutes. This will burn off any manufacturing residues and odors. A slight smoke or odor is normal during this process. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
  5. Power Connection: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a suitable 220-240V AC, 50Hz grounded electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Borosil Pro 60L OTG offers multiple cooking functions. Refer to the control panel image for knob identification.

General Operation Steps:

  1. Place the food item on the appropriate accessory (baking tray, grill rack, or rotisserie).
  2. Insert the accessory into the desired rack position inside the oven.
  3. Close the oven door securely.
  4. Set the Temperature Control Knob to the desired temperature (70°C to 230°C).
  5. Set the Function Knob to the desired cooking mode (e.g., Bake, Grill, Toast, Convection, Rotisserie). The oven features 12 heating stages.
  6. Set the Timer Knob to the desired cooking time (0-120 minutes). The oven will automatically shut off when the timer reaches zero. For continuous operation, turn the timer knob past the "OFF" position to the "Stay-On" setting.
  7. The power indicator light will illuminate, indicating the oven is operating.
  8. When cooking is complete, turn the timer to "OFF" (if not already done by the timer). Carefully remove food using oven mitts and the provided handle.

Specific Functions:

  • Baking: Use the baking tray. Select the function that activates both top and bottom heating elements, often with convection for even heat distribution. Set temperature and time as per recipe.
  • Grilling: Use the grill rack. Select the function that activates the top heating element. Place food closer to the top element for faster grilling. Monitor closely to prevent burning.
  • Toasting: Use the grill rack. Select the function that activates both top and bottom heating elements or just top, depending on desired toast level. Adjust time for desired crispness.
  • Rotisserie:
    1. Securely attach the food (e.g., whole chicken, paneer skewers) onto the rotisserie rod using the skewer set. Ensure it is balanced.
    2. Insert the pointed end of the rotisserie rod into the drive socket on the right side of the oven interior.
    3. Rest the square end of the rod onto the support on the left side.
    4. Select the rotisserie function on the function knob. This will activate the rotisserie motor and heating elements.
    5. Set temperature and time.
    6. To remove, use the rotisserie handle to lift the rod from the left support, then pull it out from the drive socket.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and efficient operation of your OTG.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, always unplug the oven from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely.
  2. Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers.
  3. Interior Cleaning:
    • Remove the crumb tray, grill rack, baking tray, and rotisserie parts. Wash them in warm, soapy water. For stubborn stains, soak them before cleaning.
    • Wipe the interior walls with a damp cloth. For baked-on food, a non-abrasive oven cleaner designed for conventional ovens can be used, following the product instructions carefully. Ensure all cleaner residue is removed.
    • Do not immerse the appliance in water.
  4. Crumb Tray: The removable crumb tray should be cleaned regularly to prevent grease buildup and potential fire hazards.
  5. Heating Elements: Do not attempt to clean the heating elements directly. Any food particles on them will burn off during operation.
  6. Storage: When not in use, store the oven in a clean, dry place.
