1. Product Overview

This AWESAFE Android 13 Car Radio is specifically designed for BMW X5 E70 and X6 E71 models manufactured between 2010 and 2013, featuring the original CIC system. It integrates advanced Android 13 functionality with your vehicle's existing systems, offering a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, WiFi, and 4G connectivity. The unit is engineered for seamless integration, preserving original vehicle functions such as steering wheel controls, iDrive controller, and the original audio system.

2. Installation Guide

Important: Professional installation is recommended. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off and the battery is disconnected before beginning installation.

2.1. Initial Setup Steps

  1. Step 1: Initial System Access

    After physical installation, power on the unit. Navigate to the "Car Info" icon on the main screen. From there, access "Factory Head Unit Parameter Setting" and then "Adaptive Resolution" to ensure proper display settings.

  2. Step 2: Rear Camera Configuration (if applicable)

    If a rear camera is installed, go to "General Setting" -> "Factory Head Unit Parameter Setting" -> "Rear Camera Type" to select the correct camera format. This step can be skipped if no rear camera is used.

  3. Step 3: Audio Input Selection

    From the main menu, select "Multimedia" -> "External devices". Choose "AUX front" to enable audio output from the new head unit through your vehicle's original AUX input. Ensure your vehicle's original AUX input is activated.

3. Operating Instructions

The AWESAFE Android 13 Car Radio operates similarly to a modern Android tablet, with additional integration for vehicle-specific functions.

3.1. Basic Navigation

  • Touchscreen: Use the 10.25-inch touchscreen for all primary interactions, including app selection, menu navigation, and input.
  • iDrive Controller: The original iDrive controller remains fully functional for navigating the system, providing a familiar control method.
  • Steering Wheel Controls: Original steering wheel controls are preserved for audio volume, track changes, and call management.

3.2. Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

Connect your iPhone or Android smartphone wirelessly to access navigation, music, calls, and messages directly on the car radio display.

  1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.
  2. On the car radio, open the CarPlay or Android Auto application.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to pair your device. Once paired, your phone's compatible apps will appear on the car radio screen.

3.3. 4G and WiFi Connectivity

  • 4G: Insert a compatible 4G SIM card into the designated slot (refer to installation diagram for location). Configure APN settings if necessary via the system settings.

4. Maintenance and Care

  • Screen Cleaning: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the touchscreen. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the unit to extreme temperatures. The system is optimized against overheating, but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in a closed vehicle can affect longevity.
  • Connectivity: Ensure all cables are securely connected. Loose connections can lead to intermittent functionality.

5. Troubleshooting Common Issues
