- Do not use HDMI to DisplayPort or DVI/VGA conversion cables, as they are not officially supported and may cause compatibility issues.
- Each computer must be connected to the KVM via a USB 3.0 cable for USB devices to be recognized.

5. Operating Instructions
Switching Between Computers
You can switch between the connected computers using one of the following methods:
- Front Panel Button: Press the 'Select' button on the front panel of the KVM switch. The corresponding LED indicator (1 or 2) will illuminate to show the active computer.
- Wired Desktop Control Button: Press the button on the wired extension controller. This allows for flexible placement of the switching control.
Note: Keyboard shortcuts (hotkeys) are not supported by this KVM switch.
Display Modes
The KVM switch supports two primary display modes, provided your computer's operating system supports them:
- Extended Mode: This mode allows you to extend your desktop across both monitors, providing a larger workspace for multitasking. You can drag application windows between the two screens.
- Copy (Mirror) Mode: This mode duplicates the content of your primary screen onto the secondary screen. This is useful for presentations or sharing the same view on both displays.

6. USB 3.0 Functionality
The integrated USB 3.0 hub allows you to share up to four USB peripherals between your two connected computers. This includes keyboards, mice, printers, and USB flash drives. The USB 3.0 interface provides data transfer speeds of up to 5Gbps, which is significantly faster than USB 2.0, ensuring efficient data transfer for your devices.
Note: High-power USB devices may require an independent power supply to function correctly when connected through the KVM switch.

7. Compatibility
The CMSTEDCD DisplayPort KVM Switch offers broad compatibility with various operating systems and display devices:
- Operating Systems: Compatible with Windows (7/8/8.1/10/XP/Vista), macOS, and Linux.
- Display Devices: Supports connection to TVs, computer monitors, and projectors with DisplayPort inputs.

8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your KVM switch, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
USB Devices Not Working
- Check USB 3.0 Cable: Ensure the USB 3.0 cable is properly connected between your computer and the KVM switch. Each computer requires its own USB 3.0 connection to the KVM.
- Verify Computer USB Port: Confirm that the USB port on your computer is functioning correctly.
- Update USB Drivers: Install the latest USB drivers for your computer's operating system.
- External Power for Devices: If using high-power USB devices (e.g., external hard drives), ensure they have their own power supply or are connected to a powered USB hub.
Display Has No Image
- Match KVM Video Ports: Confirm that the DisplayPort cables from your PC are connected to the correct input ports on the KVM (e.g., PC1 IN DP A/B for Monitor OUT A/B).
- Cable Quality and Length: Use high-quality DisplayPort cables, preferably no longer than 1.5 meters (5 feet). Avoid using DisplayPort conversion cables (e.g., HDMI to DP, DVI/VGA to DP).
- Active Adapters: If an adapter is necessary for your setup, use an active adapter.
- Power Cycle: Try power cycling the KVM switch, monitors, and computers.
- Resolution Settings: Ensure your computer's display settings are configured to a resolution and refresh rate supported by both your monitors and the KVM switch.
