4. Setup and Power Supply

Your device can be powered by either batteries or a DC 5V power adapter.

4.1 Battery Power

  • Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
  • Insert 4 x 1.5V C/LR14 batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.
  • Close the battery compartment cover.

4.2 DC Power Adapter

  • Connect the USB to DC power cable to the DC 5V input port on the device.
  • Plug the other end of the USB cable into a compatible DC 5V/1A power adapter (not included) and then into a wall outlet.
  • Note: When using the DC power adapter, batteries (if installed) will be automatically disconnected.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Audio Cassette Tape Playback

  1. Set the USB/TAPE mode switch on the side of the player to "TAPE" mode.
  2. Press the "STOP/EJECT" button to open the cassette compartment.
  3. Insert an audio cassette tape, ensuring the tape is wound tightly. If not, use a pencil to wind it.
  4. Close the cassette compartment.
  5. Press the "PLAY" button to start playback.
  6. Adjust the volume to your desired level using the volume knob.
  7. To temporarily interrupt playback, press the "PAUSE" button. Press it again to resume.
  8. The tape will stop automatically when it finishes playing. To stop manually, press "STOP/EJECT".

5.2 USB Drive Audio File Playback

  1. Set the USB/TAPE mode switch on the side of the player to "USB" mode.
  2. Insert a USB flash drive (FAT32 format, up to 32GB) containing audio files into the USB port.
  3. Playback will start automatically. The red indicator light will flash during playback.
  4. Use the previous/next track buttons to navigate between files.
  5. Press the Play/Pause button next to the USB flash drive again to pause playback. The red indicator light will stay on when paused.

5.3 Tape Recording/Converting to USB Drive

  1. Set the USB/TAPE mode switch to "TAPE".
  2. Insert the audio tape you wish to convert.
  3. Plug a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive (up to 32GB) into the USB port.
  4. Press the "PLAY" button for the tape.
  5. Then, press the "REC" button next to the USB port. The red indicator light will blink, indicating recording to USB.
  6. To stop recording, press the "REC" button again. The file will be automatically saved to the USB drive.
  7. Press "STOP/EJECT" to stop tape playback.
  8. Switch the mode switch to "USB" to play the newly converted audio file from the USB drive.

5.4 Record Microphone Audio to USB Drive

  1. Set the USB/TAPE mode switch to "USB".
  2. Insert a FAT32 formatted USB flash drive (up to 32GB) into the USB port. If the USB drive automatically starts playing music, press the Play/Pause button to pause it first.
  3. Connect the external clip-on lavalier microphone to the microphone input jack, or use the built-in microphone.
  4. Press the "REC" button next to the USB port. The red indicator light will flash, indicating microphone recording to USB.
  5. To stop recording, press the "REC" button again. The recorded audio will be saved as a WAV file on the USB drive.

5.5 Record Microphone Audio to Tape

  1. Set the USB/TAPE mode switch to "TAPE".
  2. Insert a blank cassette tape into the compartment. Ensure the tape has its plastic sheets intact for recording. If removed, cover the holes with scotch tape.
  3. Connect the external clip-on lavalier microphone to the microphone input jack, or use the built-in microphone.
  4. Press the "REC" and "PLAY" buttons simultaneously. Hold them firmly for 2-3 seconds until they lock in place. Recording will begin.
  5. To stop recording, press the "STOP/EJECT" button.
  6. To play back the recorded audio, press the "REWIND" button to rewind the tape, then press "PLAY".

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
  • Tape Head Cleaning: Periodically clean the tape heads with a specialized tape head cleaning kit to ensure optimal sound quality and prevent tape damage.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Removal: If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
