Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the stainless steel probe thoroughly after each use with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not immerse the main unit or the probe cable in water, as the thermometer is not waterproof. Only the tip of the probe is designed to withstand moisture.
- Handling the Probe: Always remove the probe from the food by pulling the probe itself, not by pulling the cable. Pulling the cable can damage it over time.
- Storage: Store the thermometer in a dry place when not in use.
- Battery Replacement: Replace the AAA battery when the display becomes dim or the unit fails to power on.
Troubleshooting
- No Display/Unit Not Turning On:
- Check if the AAA battery is installed correctly with the correct polarity.
- Replace the battery with a fresh one.
- Ensure the power button (F) is pressed firmly.
- Inaccurate Temperature Readings:
- Ensure the probe is inserted into the thickest part of the food and not touching bone or fat, which can affect readings.
- Verify the probe cable is securely connected to the main unit.
- The thermometer has an accuracy of +/- 1 to 1.5 degrees. Significant deviations may indicate a faulty probe or unit.
- Alarm Not Sounding:
- Ensure the target temperature or timer is set correctly.
- Check if the unit is in the correct mode (COOK for temperature alarm, TIMER for timer alarm).
