4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Taking a Temperature Reading
- Ensure the thermometer is powered on.
- Insert the stainless steel probe into the center of the food item, avoiding bones, until the tip is fully immersed. For liquids, ensure the probe is submerged without touching the bottom or sides of the container.
- Wait for the temperature reading on the digital display to stabilize. This typically takes a few seconds.
- Read the displayed temperature.
- After use, clean the probe thoroughly (see Section 6: Care and Maintenance).
- Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the thermometer, or it will automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

4.2 Button Functions

Figure 4: Control Buttons Diagram. This diagram labels the functions of each button on the thermometer: ON/OFF, Celsius/Fahrenheit conversion, MAX/MIN conversion, and HOLD.
- ON/OFF Button: Powers the thermometer on or off.
- °C/°F Button: Toggles between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature display units.
- MAX/MIN Button: Press once to display the maximum temperature recorded since power-on. Press again to display the minimum temperature recorded. Press a third time to return to current temperature display.
- HOLD Button: Freezes the current temperature reading on the display. Press again to release and resume live temperature monitoring.
5. Automatic Calibration Function
The Ejoyous Digital Meat Thermometer features an automatic calibration function designed to maintain its accuracy over time. This function typically operates in the background and does not require manual intervention under normal circumstances.
If you suspect the thermometer's accuracy is compromised, you can perform a simple ice-bath test to verify its calibration:
- Fill a glass with crushed ice and add a small amount of cold water, ensuring the ice is tightly packed.
- Insert the thermometer probe into the center of the ice bath, making sure the probe tip is fully submerged and not touching the bottom or sides of the glass.
- Allow the reading to stabilize. A properly calibrated thermometer should read 0°C (32°F).
- If the reading deviates significantly, the automatic calibration system may adjust it over time, or you may need to contact customer support for further assistance.
6. Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, wipe the stainless steel probe with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly. Do not immerse the entire thermometer unit in water. The main unit is not waterproof.
- Storage: Store the thermometer in its protective sheath when not in use to prevent damage to the probe. Keep it in a clean, dry place away from extreme temperatures.
- Battery: The thermometer uses a built-in 160mAh battery. If the display becomes dim or unresponsive, the battery may need recharging or replacement. Consult customer support for battery service.
- Material Safety: The probe is made of food-grade stainless steel, and the body from ABS material, ensuring safety for food contact.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display / Thermometer won't turn on. | Battery depleted or faulty. | Ensure the ON/OFF button is pressed firmly. If still unresponsive, the built-in battery may require service. Contact customer support. |
| Inaccurate temperature readings. | Probe not fully inserted; probe tip touching bone/container; calibration issue. | Ensure the probe is inserted correctly into the center of the food. Perform an ice-bath test (see Section 5). If issues persist, contact customer support. |
| Display shows "LLL" or "HHH". | Temperature is outside the measurable range (-50°C to 300°C / -58°F to 572°F). | Remove the probe from the extreme temperature environment. The thermometer is designed for specific temperature ranges. |
