1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the AFMAT Electric Pencil Sharpener PSD4. This heavy-duty, cordless, and rechargeable sharpener is designed for efficient and precise sharpening of various pencil types and sizes. Please read this manual carefully before use to ensure proper operation and maintenance.

2. Product Features

3. Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the pencil sharpener. Connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the sharpener and to a 5V/2A USB adapter (not included). The charging indicator will show a blinking blue light during charging and a solid blue light when fully charged. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.

Note: Do not use fast-charge devices with this sharpener.

4. Operating Instructions

1. Select Hole Size: Rotate the dial on the front of the sharpener to select the appropriate hole size for your pencil (6mm to 11mm).
2. Insert Pencil: Hold the pencil firmly and insert it parallel to the top of the sharpener.
3. Apply Pressure: Gently apply pressure to the pencil. The sharpener will start automatically.
4. Auto-Stop: Continue applying pressure until the sharpener stops. This indicates the pencil is sharpened to a fine point. If you do not apply enough pressure, the sharpener may stop prematurely.
5. Remove Pencil: Withdraw the sharpened pencil.

5. Maintenance

Emptying the Shavings Bin

The transparent shavings bin allows you to monitor the fill level. To empty:

1. Gently pull out the drawer-type shavings bin from the front of the sharpener.
2. Discard the pencil shavings.
3. Ensure the bin is properly reinstalled and closed tightly. The sharpener will not operate if the bin is not correctly secured due to a safety sensor.

Common Issues and Solutions

• Pencil Jamming:
  1. Insert a sharp lead pencil and apply stress several times to push out the jammed lead.
  2. If the above step is not effective, carefully remove the shaving case. Cover your hands with gloves and turn the sharpening blade until you can see the sharpening center. Pick out any broken lead pieces.
• Charging Issue:

  Ensure you are using a 5V/2A adapter for charging. Avoid using fast-charge devices, as they may not be compatible or could damage the sharpener.

• Sharpener Not Operating:

  Check that the shavings bin is securely closed. A safety sensor prevents operation if the bin is not properly installed.
