Maintenance

Troubleshooting
If your AFMAT PSD3 Electric Pencil Sharpener is not functioning as expected, please refer to the following common issues and solutions:
- Sharpener does not start:
- Ensure the shaving bin is securely closed. The sharpener has a safety mechanism that prevents operation if the bin is open or not properly seated.
- Check if the battery is charged. If the indicator light is off or red, recharge the unit.
- Pencil lead jams:
- If a pencil lead breaks inside the sharpener, first try inserting a sharp lead pencil and applying a bit more pressure several times to push out the jammed lead.
- If the above method does not work, carefully remove the shaving case. Wear gloves to unscrew the bottom of the sharpener. Turn the sharpening blade manually until you can see the sharpening center to clear the jammed lead. Reassemble securely.

- Ensure you are using pencils within the recommended 6-11mm diameter range.
- Avoid sharpening crayons, chalk, or very soft pencils, as these can dull the blade or cause uneven sharpening.
- If the issue persists after clearing any potential jams, the blade may be worn. Contact customer support for assistance.
