2. Setup and Initial Assembly

Your Cybervelo electric bike is delivered approximately 90% pre-assembled. Follow these steps to complete the assembly and prepare for your first ride.

2.1 Unboxing and Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging.
  2. Inspect the bike for any visible damage during transit. Report any issues to customer support immediately.
  3. Verify all components are present: main bike frame, front wheel, handlebars, seat post with saddle, pedals, charger, and user manual.

2.2 Assembly Steps

  1. Install the Front Wheel: Align the front wheel with the fork dropouts. Ensure the disc brake rotor is correctly seated within the caliper. Secure with the quick-release skewer or axle nuts.
  2. Attach the Handlebars: Insert the handlebar stem into the fork steerer tube. Ensure the handlebars are centered and straight, then tighten the stem bolts securely.
  3. Install the Seat Post and Saddle: Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube. Adjust the height to a comfortable riding position (your feet should touch the ground when seated) and secure with the quick-release clamp.
  4. Attach the Pedals: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal threads counter-clockwise, and the right pedal threads clockwise. Apply a small amount of grease to the threads and tighten them firmly with a wrench.

  • 7-Speed Transmission: Use the gear shifter on the handlebars to change gears. Shift to lower gears for climbing hills and higher gears for flat terrain or downhill riding.
  • Dual Disc Brakes: The bike is equipped with front and rear mechanical disc brakes. Apply both brakes simultaneously for effective and controlled stopping. The EABS system enhances braking safety.

4. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Cybervelo electric bike.

4.1 Battery Care

  • Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health.
  • Avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
  • Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Do not expose the battery to water or moisture. The battery is IP54 water-resistant, but direct submersion should be avoided.

4.2 Tires and Brakes

  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure before each ride. Maintain the recommended PSI (pounds per square inch) indicated on the tire sidewall for optimal performance and safety.
  • Brake Inspection: Regularly inspect brake pads for wear and tear. Ensure brake levers are firm and responsive. Adjust or replace brake pads as needed.

4.3 General Cleaning and Lubrication

  • Cleaning: Clean the bike regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.
  • Chain Lubrication: Lubricate the chain periodically, especially after riding in wet or dusty conditions, to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent rust.
  • Fastener Check: Periodically check all bolts and fasteners for tightness, especially on critical components like handlebars, wheels, and seat post.
