Featuring a 900-lumen anti-glare beam, IPX7 waterproof rating, and smart control options, the RN900 V2.0 provides reliable illumination in various conditions.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not look directly into the light beam: The high intensity light can cause temporary vision impairment or permanent eye damage.
  • Mount securely: Ensure the light is firmly attached to your handlebar to prevent it from falling off during rides.
  • Adjust beam angle: The RN900 V2.0 features an anti-glare lens. Always adjust the light angle downwards to avoid blinding oncoming pedestrians or drivers.
  • Water resistance: The light is IPX7 waterproof. Ensure the USB-C port cover is tightly sealed before exposure to water.
  • Battery care: Do not disassemble the battery or expose it to extreme temperatures. Charge the battery regularly to maintain its lifespan.

4. Setup

4.1 Mounting the Light

  1. Select the appropriate strap size for your handlebar diameter (28mm, 31.8mm, or 35mm).
  2. Attach the MJ 6280 Handlebar Mount to your handlebar using the selected strap and the provided hex key. Ensure it is securely tightened.
  3. Align the RN900 V2.0 light with the Garmin-style mount on the handlebar.
  4. Press the light firmly into the mount and twist it 90 degrees until it clicks into place. This ensures a secure fit.

4.2 Charging the Battery

The RN900 V2.0 features a built-in 4200mAh battery and supports USB-C fast charging.

  1. Locate the USB-C charging port on the light, typically covered by a rubber flap.
  2. Open the rubber flap and connect the provided USB-C cable to the light.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-C cable to a USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, computer, power bank).
  4. The indicator light will show charging status. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.
  5. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable and firmly close the rubber flap to maintain IPX7 water resistance.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the power button for approximately 1 second to turn the light on or off.
  • Mode Switching: While the light is on, single-press the power button to cycle through constant brightness modes (Low, Medium, High).
  • Flashing Modes: Double-press the power button to enter flashing modes (Night Flash, Day Flash). Single-press again to cycle through these.
  • Memory Function: The light will remember the last used mode when turned back on.

5.2 FTR LightSync Control (Optional)

The RN900 V2.0 is compatible with Magicshine's FTR LightSync system, allowing simultaneous control of front and compatible rear lights (e.g., SEEMEE 150 MAG/50 V2.0) and a wireless remote (sold separately).

  1. Pairing: Turn on both the front light and the compatible tail light. Press and hold the circle and square buttons on the remote for about 5 seconds until the remote's indicator flashes blue to enter pairing mode. Then, hold the remote close to the front light and tail light until their indicators flash blue for 2 seconds, confirming successful pairing.
  2. Simultaneous Control: After pairing, press and hold any button on the remote or the front light for 1 second to turn both the front and rear lights on or off simultaneously.
  3. Adjust Brightness/Modes: Via the remote, click the circle button to cycle through brightness levels on the front light. Double-click the square button to switch between flashing modes.

5.3 Magicshine App Control (Optional)

The Magicshine App allows for personalized control over brightness levels (1%–100%) and lighting modes, optimizing the light for different riding environments.

  • Download the Magicshine App from your device's app store.
  • Follow the in-app instructions to connect your RN900 V2.0 light.
  • Customize settings such as brightness, mode sequences, and check battery status.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the light body and lens with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water Resistance: Always ensure the USB-C port's rubber cover is securely closed after charging or before riding in wet conditions to maintain its IPX7 waterproof rating.
  • Battery Storage: If storing the light for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50-70% capacity and recharge every 3-6 months to prevent deep discharge. Store in a cool, dry place.
  • Mounting: Periodically check the handlebar mount for tightness and wear. Replace if necessary to ensure secure attachment.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Light not turning on: Ensure the battery is charged. If the light is in lockout mode (indicator blinks red when pressed), hold the power button for 3 seconds until it blinks green, then press again to turn on.
  • Light not charging: Check the USB-C cable and power source. Ensure the cable is fully inserted into the port.
  • FTR LightSync pairing issues: Ensure both front and rear lights are on and the remote is within close proximity during the pairing process. Repeat the pairing steps carefully.
  • App connection issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone and the light is within range. Restart the app and the light if necessary.
