Installation Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Wall Opening
Use a 7-inch hole saw to create a round opening in the outer wall. Ensure minimum 12-inch clearance from adjacent walls and ceiling. The wall thickness must be a minimum of 5-7/8 inches and a maximum of 19-5/8 inches.

Step 2: Install Air Duct
Install the air duct with a minimum slope of 0.11" (3 mm) downwards to ensure proper drainage. On the outer wall side, the air duct end must protrude a distance that enables the installation of the outer ventilation hood. Fix the air duct in the wall using mounting foam.

Step 5: Install Front Panel and Outer Hood
Install the front part of the indoor unit. For the outer ventilation hood, mark the fastening holes and drill 4 holes, 6 mm (1/4 inch) in diameter and 50 mm (1.97 inches) deep, to suit the expansion anchors. Disassemble the outer ventilation hood to ensure access to the fastening holes. Remove the ventilation hood front part. Insert the supplied expansion anchors 6x40 into the holes. Fix the back wall of the ventilation hood on the wall using the supplied screws 4x40. Cover the ventilation hood with the front part.
Electrical Wiring
Refer to the wiring diagram provided in the user's manual for correct connections. Ensure power is disconnected before performing any wiring. The unit operates on 120 VAC, 60 Hz.

Wi-Fi and App Connection
Initial Setup
To connect your TwinFresh Expert RW1-50-2 to Wi-Fi, first reset the unit. Open the unit's front panel and locate the DIP switches. Flip the 4th DIP switch to the left and then back to the right. This resets the unit for a clean connection.
Connecting to the App
- Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network broadcast by the fan. This network will typically be named 'FAN: [16 digits]'. The default password is '11111111' (eight ones).
- Open the Vents Home app. Navigate to the 'Device list' and select 'Universal connection'.
- In the settings menu (top right corner of the app), select 'Wi-Fi setup', then choose 'Client'. Enter your home Wi-Fi network name and password. Check the box to 'Allow device management via cloud server' and select 'Apply'.
- Your phone will temporarily lose connection to the unit's Wi-Fi as the unit connects to your home network.
- Reconnect your phone to your home Wi-Fi network. In the Vents Home app, go back to 'Device list', select 'Add New', then 'TwinFresh V.2', and finally 'Connection Wizard'. Enter your home Wi-Fi password again.
- Activate the special setting mode on the device: hold down the 'Ventilation' button on the unit for 5 seconds until all LEDs start blinking. Press 'Next' in the app.
- Select 'Connect' when prompted. The unit will connect, and you will be able to configure a new name and/or password for your device if desired. Select 'Ready' to complete the setup.

Connecting Multiple Units
If you have multiple units to connect, ensure secondary units are unplugged during the primary unit setup. Once the primary unit is connected, access the DIP switches on the secondary unit(s) and flip the first DIP switch to the left. This defines it as a secondary unit. Put all primary and secondary units into special mode by pressing and holding the ventilation button on each. Wait until all secondary unit LEDs stop flashing. Then, press and hold the ventilation button on the primary unit to return to normal operation. Secondary units will mirror the primary unit's inputs.

Operating Modes
- Option 1 (Extract or Supply Mode): Provides up to 30 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) of airflow for either air extraction or supply.
- Option 2 (Regeneration Mode): Operates at up to 15 CFM and utilizes the ceramic ERV core, offering up to 93% energy recovery efficiency. In this mode, supply and exhaust cycles alternate every 70 seconds.
- Boost Mode: This mode provides maximum airflow for rapid ventilation and can only be controlled via iOS and Android mobile devices through the Vents Home app.
- Negative Pressure vs. Positive Pressure: In regeneration mode, the alternating supply and exhaust cycles result in a negligible amount of pressure gain or loss within the room.
Maintenance
Air Filtration
All Twinfresh units come standard with MERV 5 filtration. A MERV 13 add-on filter is also available for enhanced air purification. Regular inspection, cleaning, and replacement of filters are crucial for maintaining optimal performance and air quality.
Automatic Air Shutters
The indoor TwinFresh Expert ERV is equipped with automatic air shutters that close when the unit is powered off. This feature prevents unwanted air backdraft, ensuring energy efficiency and comfort.
Easy Access for Maintenance
The indoor unit is designed for easy maintenance. It can be opened by simply pressing the latches located on both sides of the unit, providing convenient access to internal components for cleaning or servicing.
Changing the Scheduler Battery
To change the scheduler battery, carefully open the unit's front panel. Locate the battery compartment on the circuit board. Gently remove the old CR1220 lithium battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity. Securely close the unit's front panel.
