4. Setup and Installation

4.1. Filter Assembly

1. Unpack all components from the box.
2. Separate the filter housing from the blue cap.
3. Place the descaling balls into the stainless steel mesh filter cartridge.
4. Insert the assembled stainless steel mesh filter cartridge into the clear filter housing.
5. Screw the blue cap back onto the filter housing, ensuring it is hand-tightened securely.

4.2. Connecting to Washing Machine

The IONIX filter is designed for universal compatibility and can be connected directly to your washing machine's water inlet or to a tap connection.

1. Turn off the main water supply to your washing machine.
2. Locate the water inlet on the back of your washing machine.
3. Apply PTFE (Teflon) tape clockwise around the threads of the washing machine's water inlet. This helps ensure a watertight seal.
4. Attach the assembled IONIX filter unit to the washing machine's water inlet. Hand-tighten firmly.
5. Apply PTFE (Teflon) tape clockwise around the threads of the filter's outlet.
6. Connect your washing machine's water inlet hose to the outlet of the IONIX filter. Hand-tighten firmly.
7. Slowly turn on the main water supply and check for any leaks. If leaks occur, tighten connections further or reapply PTFE tape.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the IONIX Washing Machine Filter operates automatically with your washing machine's water intake. It continuously filters incoming water, removing impurities and softening hard water as it flows through the stainless steel mesh and descaling balls.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Steel Mesh Filter

The stainless steel mesh filter is designed for long-term use and is easy to clean. Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and water flow.

1. Turn off the main water supply to your washing machine.
2. Carefully unscrew the filter unit from the washing machine inlet.
3. Separate the blue cap from the clear housing and remove the stainless steel mesh filter cartridge.
4. Rinse the mesh filter under running water to remove trapped sediment and particles. A soft brush can be used for stubborn deposits.
5. Inspect the descaling balls. If they appear significantly diminished, consider replacing them (replacement balls sold separately).
6. Reassemble the filter unit and reattach it to the washing machine, ensuring all connections are secure and watertight.
7. Slowly turn on the water supply and check for leaks.

7. Troubleshooting

• Reduced Water Flow: This often indicates a clogged filter. Refer to the Maintenance section (6.1) to clean the stainless steel mesh filter.
• Leaks at Connections: Ensure all connections are tightly secured. Turn off the water supply, reapply PTFE (Teflon) tape to the threads, and re-tighten.
• Water Hardness Not Improving: Check if the descaling balls are still present and effective. If significantly dissolved, they may need replacement. Ensure the filter is installed correctly in the water flow path.
