5. Usage Guidelines

This outdoor furniture set is designed for comfortable and durable use in various outdoor environments.

• Placement: Position the furniture on a flat, stable surface to ensure stability and prevent tipping.
• Cushions: The included cushions are upholstered in water-resistant, quick-dry fabric. While they repel spills, they are not fully waterproof. Avoid prolonged exposure to heavy rain or submersion in water. Store cushions indoors during inclement weather or when not in use for extended periods to prolong their lifespan.
• Weight Capacity: Adhere to the recommended weight limits for each seating piece to prevent structural damage or injury.
• Acacia Wood: The acacia wood is naturally resistant to outdoor elements. However, prolonged exposure to extreme weather conditions (e.g., intense sun, heavy rain, snow) can affect its appearance over time.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help preserve the appearance and extend the life of your Merax outdoor furniture set.

6.1. Wood Frame Care

• Clean the acacia wood frame with a soft cloth and mild soap and water solution. Rinse thoroughly and dry immediately to prevent water spots.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or power washers, as these can damage the wood finish.
• To maintain the rich appearance of the acacia wood, periodic application of a wood sealant or outdoor furniture oil is recommended, especially in dry climates or after prolonged sun exposure.
• Inspect the frame periodically for any loose screws or connections and tighten them as necessary.

6.2. Cushion Care

• Spot clean cushions with a mild soap and water solution. Allow to air dry completely.
• For deeper cleaning, remove cushion covers if possible and machine wash on a gentle cycle with cold water. Air dry only; do not tumble dry.
• Do not use bleach or harsh detergents on the fabric.
• Store cushions in a dry, protected area when not in use or during off-season to prevent mildew and fading.

6.3. Rope Accents Care

• Gently clean woven rope accents with a soft brush or cloth and mild soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.
• Avoid pulling or snagging the rope to prevent unraveling.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your furniture set.

• Wobbling Furniture: Ensure all screws and bolts are securely tightened. If the issue persists, check if the furniture is placed on an uneven surface. Use furniture levelers if necessary.
• Cushion Discoloration/Mildew: This usually occurs due to prolonged exposure to moisture or direct sunlight. Follow cushion care instructions (Section 6.2) and store cushions properly when not in use.
• Wood Fading/Cracking: Natural wood can fade or develop minor cracks over time, especially with sun exposure. Regular application of wood sealant or oil (Section 6.1) can help mitigate this.
• Loose Rope Accents: If any woven rope appears loose, gently try to re-secure it. Avoid excessive force. If damage is significant, contact customer support.
