5. Setup

5.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the top of the detector and plug the other end into a compatible USB power adapter.

  • The charging indicator will illuminate during charging.
  • A full charge typically provides up to 14 hours of continuous operation.

5.2 Power On/Off

  • To Power On: Press and hold the power button until the device vibrates and the screen illuminates. The device will perform a self-check.
  • To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the device prompts you to confirm shutdown. Confirm to power off.

5.3 Basic Settings

Access the menu to adjust settings such as time, date, and alarm thresholds. Refer to the on-screen prompts for navigation using the device's buttons.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Real-time Monitoring

Once powered on, the device will display real-time concentrations of H2S, O2, CO, and LEL on its screen. Ensure the sensor area is unobstructed for accurate readings.

6.2 Alarm System

The MG10 features three types of alarms:

  • Audible Alarm: A loud sound (up to 120 dB) will emit from the device.
  • Visual Alarm: The LED indicator on the top of the device will flash.
  • Vibration Alarm: The device will vibrate to provide a tactile alert.

These alarms activate instantly when gas concentrations exceed the preset low or high alarm thresholds. Respond immediately to any alarm.

6.3 Carrying the Device

The MG10 is equipped with a strong back clip for easy attachment to clothing, belts, or gear, ensuring it is always accessible and visible during use.

6.4 Using the Nozzle Attachment

For specific testing of gas lines or concentrated sources, attach the provided nozzle to the front sensor area. This helps to block outside air and allows for more direct readings from the gas source.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the sensor area is kept clean and free of dust or debris.

7.2 Sensor Lifespan

The advanced sensors in the MG10 are designed for 15 to 24 months of stable performance. Regular checks and professional calibration are recommended to ensure continued accuracy.

7.3 Storage

Store the device in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the sensor area is clean and unobstructed. Consider professional calibration if readings remain inconsistent.
  • Device Not Powering On: Check battery level and ensure the device is fully charged.
  • Alarms Triggering Unexpectedly: Verify alarm threshold settings. If the issue persists in a clean environment, the sensor may require calibration or service.
  • Charging Port Cover Issues: Ensure the Type-C charging port cover is properly seated to maintain dust and water resistance. If it does not seal, contact support.
  • Voice Prompt: The device includes a voice prompt for alarms. There is no option to disable this feature.
